my man and me JUST LOVE to get rooms here because we always get the same 1 & it costs us no more then $68 - $70. these owners are very picky about how many people and who will be occupying their room while its being rented out for the day/ night. check in is at 3pm & check our is at 11am on the nose! trust, they will be knocking at the door, guaranteed! anyways, i always clean the shower myself because once I saw old soap left in the soap dish thats cemented to the wall. i REALLY LOST IT OVER THAT & AM GLAD I FOUND THAT LIKE THAT BECAUSE I HAVE gained a MAJOR germophic awareness & HABIT OF SANITIZING EVERYTHING IN THE ROOM / BATHROOM...EVEN THE DOOR KNOBS WITH 75% ALCOHOL WIPES/AS WELL AS THE REMOTES...ESP SINCE COVID 19 IS GOING AROUND....I ALSO GAINED AN AWARENESS about how unsanitary that was & basically caught on to how the maid just doesn't care to clean or SANITIZE properly during covid 19 times ESPECIALLY....BUT WHAT do you expect for paying the low price here, if thwir isnt roaches then it's a lazy maid that keeps the price so low! I wish she did her job properly & correctly & most of all EFFICIENTLY so i wouldn't have to go around sanitizing everything like a nut when i rent here.but oh well. that's pretty much all i got to say about the islander motel in eagle rock! I love the city of eagle rock, by the way....& oh yes, one more thing, these owners will NEVER allow anyone to remain in the room without checking out! thats just the way they run their motel business here.....NOBODY stays EVER-EVER-EVER ...! the place is clear of all guests between 11am - 3pm , everyday! thsy are also pretty nice people once they get to know you....ALSO, my man constantly has to put batteries in the tv remote, but not the cable box remote....i was mad one time when we asked them a second time for batteries because they were dead twice for us & was only GRANTED new triple as one time then told no the second time it happened. That was entirely wrong...but that's what $70 dollar service is to be expected, i have caught on since i motel hop a lot...but choose to stay here because it's not roach infested, the sheets are clean & the price is...
Read moreknows if that’s the actual price or one she just made up since they both quoted me different prices for it. It is private and if they actually took pride in their property it would be charming but instead it’s extremely run down and shabby inside. The bed is rock hard with sheets so thin you can read a newspaper through them. Flat pillows that smell stale. All the furniture is shabby and old, peeling, broken. There’s not even a bedside lamp, just the overhead light which is dim and grimy. The carpet feels old and tacky. The bathroom floor and shower stall were new but the toilet and vanity were old and broken. The AC unit and radiator are both chipped and filthy with wires hanging out everywhere, visible duct tape etc. When I plugged in my phone to charge the entire outlet sank into the wall under the pressure of me plugging something in. This place is super weird and what’s stupid is, they still use the plastic keyfobs and have a great neon sign, they could totally put some money into this and make it nice and all the influencers and nostalgia mavens would flock here, but it feels like they just don’t care. If the attitude of their staff is any indicator I think that’s the most...
Read moreOk. So let's start with the caution tape on the bottom and top floor surrounding the stairs. Which didn't look like it was up to code. So, let's just say I wouldn't take my kids there . It may even be considered child abuse if you're caught with small children on the premises. Just saying I gave it 1 star cause there's no...
