Eleanor G Roberts Aquatic Center — Attraction in Los Angeles

I’ve been to Eleanor Pool several times, and unfortunately, my experiences have been consistently disappointing.

On one occasion I drove all the way there only to discover the pool was closed due to “low staffing” with no prior communication. Another time, after checking in, I was told the pool was “too busy” and asked to come back later. That is not how a public pool should operate. Staff do not enforce or educate swimmers on basic lap-swimming etiquette (sharing lanes, splitting or circle swimming). Many swimmers act territorial and refuse to share lanes, and no one corrects them. The atmosphere is often unpleasant and at times unsafe. I was harassed by another swimmer with clear behavioral issues, and staff did nothing. The facilities themselves are poorly maintained — dirty, with visible cockroaches and no proper changing rooms.

Since switching to LACES Pool, the difference has been night and day. The staff there are professional and respectful, the facilities are clean and well maintained, and there’s a proper locker room for swimmers.

Sadly, Eleanor Pool does not meet even the most basic standards I’d expect from a public pool. I won’t...

It is horrible they have bad scheduling and rude staff and they block of like 75% of the pool and you have a little packed area to swim with barely any space and everywhere else is empty and the staff are rude they. Dont let you do anything but swim back and forth you cant walk at all. And on monday wensday and friday the pool dosent open until 7pm and closes at 8:15pm like how dumb is that who wants to have to wait until its cold and darkish to go swimming😒 i really am mad tgat this is the nearest pool to my house and last time the water was freezing it felt like below 20 degress and no one wanted to swim and if you go with friends you cant play in the pool or touch each other😧😤 dont go here...

Staff needs to be more communicative to the members when closing the pool, changing schedules or servicing the pool. Don't have us coming up to the pool with our kids ready for their lessons and the pool is closed for maintenance other reasons. You have our phone numbers on file and you know who is scheduled for a class for those days. It is very upsetting to the kids who is excited about their class, only to be disappointed when they get there because no one there bothered to inform us of your closure. While staff is sitting around waiting, pick up the phone and keep us informed so we don't make useless trips for nothing! Other than that love the lessons, and the lifeguards...
