Ross Dress for Less — Local services in Los Angeles

This ROSS is the worst for racism and anti-blackness. I entered the store yesterday to return a single dress. I went to the Returns and Exchanges line and was made to wait while other customers who didn’t identify as black (as I was the only one in the store I looked around and felt so isolated and othered. This one kind older Latina woman who was in the regular checkout line and was kind enough to let me go ahead of her. However the Latina clerks Izell and Vanessa (alleged manager and greeter) were completely trying to be dismissive and even told me she would serve her first and then me even though I had 1 retuned dressed to be reissued as a store credit. I advocated for myself at this point and verbally expressed anti-blackness, colorism and racism will not be allowed. I will not let them keep me from this store. This isn’t my first negative experience this is the first one I’m documenting to raise awareness. Do better stop saying Black Lives Matter and then when it comes to it’s just performative and even in 2023 you can simply be discriminated against. If you know then you know. .. Ross is an addiction all on its own lol. I visit this Ross if not daily then at least 3 or 4 times a week. I'm from New Hampshire and over there we don't have Ross. We only have TJ Maxx or Marshalls and let's be real those places are just not up to the Ross standard. They have everything that you could need in every location or ever possibly want. It's so easy to get lost in Ross for hours. There are multiple staff members working all throughout the store waiting eagerly to answer any and all questions you may have. I find the best time to visit all Ross's is after 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 or 12:00 when they close depending on which store you're at. During the day the lines can exceed 20 people but after 8:00 p.m. you can get in and get out if you need to or you can go in and hang out whichever your heart desires. Bunch of thieves! I gave cashier a $20.89 to pay for a purchase of $10.89 but I did not get my cash back of $10.00. Told the cashier but he told me that it was a 10.00 but it wasn't because I only had two bills in my wallet a 5.00 and a 20.00. He told me to step aside and continued to wait on other customers while his supervisor checked the camera. The image was to grain to see clearly the amount of bill but assumed that because it was placed in the 10 spot in the drawer then it had to be a 10. Which it wasn't.
