Now that Iāve moved out of Extra Space Storage I feel comfortable writing this review. I initially started renting my unit when it was StorQuest. StorQuest was hands down the worst service I had, and is a whole other story. Extra Space Storage acquired the building Iām assuming StorQuest could not manage the place properly. Extra Storage sent a letter to all current renters about the acquisition which was great, but told renters we had to go in personally to resign an Extra Storage agreement form. When I went in, the women who helped me filled out the contract for me and said everything would be the same as my agreement with StoreQuest. She showed me the screen on her computer before we digitally signed the agreement and all looked perfect. Flash forward, there was an attempted break in on my indoor unit at some point. The latch was bent and I could not enter my unit. They mentioned they could replace it and the boxes brought in that day could be stored in their closet until the latch was replaced. In goes 6 boxes into their closet space. They did not communicate that there is a time limit of 30 days and it took them 30+ days to replace the lock because again they failed to communicate, email, or mail that I had to sign a release agreement to allow the repair vendor access to replace the lock. Those 6 boxes were then lost because of the 30 days. It took me having to physically go in to discover all this information. The employee mentioned my rental agreement also claimed $0 on my insurance. Who in there right mind would claim $0. I told them no I claimed X dollar amount and that was absolutely incorrect. I told them how the new agreement lease process happened and was told the women who helped me was no longer with the company. I was basically told Iām out of luck and can try to file a claim. I got all the standard run around per usual. The employees, the manager, and customer service rep had the audacity to play the situations as if it were my fault. They had zero communication during all that. ZERO! On top of all this, they passive aggressively would poke and make remakes that I was paying a low rate for the unit I had and I should be paying way more. Over the next 6 months, they raised my rate twice with ZERO communication when the agreement states they would give 30 day notices. They claimed a post marked letter was sent but I never received one. If I did receive anything I would have moved out the second time they raised it. I went from paying $198(correction) to $361. Huge increase!
I highly recommend not using Extra Space Storage on 1000 Main St. The lack of communication and the horrible customer service is unbelievable. Instead of helping their customers, they really push to not be responsible for anything or help. The employees are most likely trained to not take blame and push this practice. Their just doing what they are told. Not the best company practices. Mia and one other male employee have been helpful to their control. Appreciate their help and what they can do. Iāve now moved to a Public Storage paying $270 for a drive up unit the same size. 2 renters at Extra Storage also mentioned theyāve decided to move as well for similar reasons.
Iāve only given this a 2 star rating because the facility is clean and tidy surprisingly. There is a massive homeless encampment behind the building/cul de sac and alleys. There was once a fire started by the encampment and smoke filled the building and people inside had to evacuate...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am so disappointed about the service that I have encounter with this establishment This is my first time doing business with this place and I have a car unit here and I wasnāt able to access my vehicle because the staff here isnāt following there own policy with the schedule. It is 3.37 pm and the sign outside says 4pm closing of the gate. The guy who is working here decides that he wants to lock up and leave early. Itās about 5 customers outside waiting to get through gate and the guy is not allowing people in. He said ā they close the gate at 3:30 and the sign outside says 4pm on Sunday.
There are two sides one that house the cars and one that house household things I believe. I also came here yesterday which was Saturday and I was here 15 mins before 7 pm and the gate was already closed. This is unacceptable I pay to much money to not be able to have access to my car. I have things to with this car it is my primary car that I do things with that I can not do with my secondary car and it is a must that I pull this car out when I need it.
Somebody needs to investigate the way that these employees are handling business with customers and there needs to be some changes to their opening n and closing schedules and these changes need to be made clear. I am going to need my bill reduce if I have to suffer these kind of...

Having to store things in a Storage unit is not a very pleasant thing to do as one does not have 24 hours access to them like it would have been if we had them with us at home. However, Jessica makes it Bearable because She always gives us EXCEPTIONAL SERVICES in assisting us whenever we need any help. She is always very PERSONABLE. Although soft spoken, She always has a WELCOMING SMILE whenever we exchange pleasantries. She NEVER feels bothered whenever Her help is needed, She would always say "no worries " every time I say "I am sorry to bother you but I need your help" and She would help me as needed. She is not only knowledgeable about her job, She is also very Handy and is quick with tools if there is any need for it. I am always happy to see her whenever I stop by the office.Overall, in my personal opinion, I believe that Her PERSONALITY not only draws Customers to Extra Space Storage but also keeps them. I would like to say that I type some words in uppercase letters for emphasis. I would like to close this review by saying, please give Jessica a BIG "THANK YOU" for me.
