THE WORST. Extremely Rude Staff upon entry, tiny small area of the pool being actually open to general public, next to no seating and rude life-guards who behave like they wished they were elsewhere. Bee infestation as mentioned below is very true. They've done nothing about it and it's been well over a year, so I'm not sure what they're waiting for or how many stings it takes until they take safety measures. Left within two minutes of entry without swimming but was told that I could not receive a refund, after some back and forth, eventually they handed me a paper to fill in and then claimed that they were the only ones who are authorized to submit it so tried to snatch the papers back (please, we all know how that goes). Someone else was having issues with them as well - they just are so bad that I seriously think they need to address this, but I won't be going back because it was just plain nasty. Oh yes, all this AND they increased their entry fee. I would give it zero stars, but that is not an option. Definitely find...
Read moreMay 2025: This wonderful 12-lane, perfectly heated outdoor pool tucked behind a row of 80-yr old ficus trees lining Verdugo Rd is perfection. This is a community pool, not a club; it is a well-staffed, well-managed, well-maintained community swim pool offering levels of lessons, but selfishly what keeps me coming back is the pure joy of lap swimming in a clean, heated, open-air pool. It's a throwback in time, you get a little paper ticket to prove you paid ($1 if you're over 50) the changing rooms are simply that. No lockers, just check your bag with the old-school bag check, or take your tote out to your lane after you've rinsed yourself under the no nonsense community shower heads. Again, not a club, a tax-payer funded community pool. I am SO pleased to live in Glassell Park and call this ours. The water is clean and fresh and doesn't stink like chlorine and it's heated to perfection. I am a lap swimmer and nothing makes me happier than this place. I should delete this and gate-keep this absolute gem of a community...
Read moreThis pool is nice enough in summer, though it can get a bit crowded (I choose to go on weekdays at around midday, when I think not many people will be there). I do not think it is heated. It's strange having it right off the sidewalk, people walking past can look through the chain link fence down at you. It's all very concrete and bleak and the changing rooms leave a lot to be desired, but if you're looking for a big cold pool on a hot day to swim laps, it's cheap, friendly, and gets...
