This is NOT a gym location I would recommend. Ive been coming here off and on for about 1 year from that 1 year probably haven't gone in 7-8 months. I recently started going again and apparently now they are charging for towels $2 a day or $10 a month blaming covid time there were not charging they asked if I wanted to see the contract ? Like who reads 20 pages for a gym sign up ? everything needs to disclosed at time of signing up so I didnt take a towel from them as a principal. When I came back on my latest visit I said lets add the towel service the person said to me its $13 because its prorated, that didnt make sense at all so I skipped it all together and now looking for another gym. There are many great local gyms in the area that can use community support. Some recommendations are bring your own towel. Also if you like cardio/ treadmill their machines are pretty outdated and could use newer equipment. They have tiny tvs on the running machines half of them don't work ones that do work have 4 maybe 5 channels so if you want something to watch tv while you workout keep that in mind. Another issue is sometimes often people coming in a group to work out in cardio area they have very loud conversations and also keep their phone on and ringing etc. which is not so pleasant. Staff could be a bit more friendlier. Parking is fair. Left a 2 star review instead of 1 only because the facility is somewhat clean.

I have no clue why this place has so many poor reviews. I think a lot were maybe for COVID times? Or people just like to complain. Idk. I had an amazing experience here. Let me tell you why: First - The staff at this location ROCK. Everyone I interacted with was warm and helpful. One of the main sales guys (Rahm) is incredibly kind and gave me a little crash course on the area after I told him it was my first week there. Just a good dude. after almost every workout I would stop by his desk to chop it up and chat about life. Jasmine (the GM?) was also super welcoming (and cute too ^^). The space itself feels very new - a ton of machines and free weights. Saw some comments about people complaining about the disorganization of the free weights and they’re not wrong, but it’s not as big of a deal as they made it out to be. You just look farther down the rack…and find the ones you need! Crazy concept, i know. A small but important note: the handles on the free weights are some of the best I’ve ever gripped. Maybe that’s an LA fitness thing everywhere, but it was noticeable. Enough that it made a difference for me. No shoulder pain pressing from the flat bench or 45 degree incline. Will definitely hit this spot next time I’m in the area.

Newly opened on Dec 7th, 2018. It’s such a bless for Tarzana residents: New interior and equipments; Great view of Ventura Blvd while working out; Next to whole food and TJ Max, can go eat or shopping after workout. Shortcomings are: no swimming pool, relatively smaller than other LA fitness; parking not very convenient(but they do have 3 hour validate parking).

Staff is good, but can't expect them to deal with the absolute Fuk'ery I've been seeing. Wanna know why the machines have rips on the seats, guys wearing jeans! JEANS! The buttons make rips, if that's not enough seen plenty of old dudes take their shoes off and just go for it in their socks. Loud groups of teens are common, and will take up anything for 15-20min doing little, or nothing but posing in in front of each other and checking out the women. Soo, it's not very woman friendly right there. Every class leaves the doors open blasting their own music, I guess because the AC doesn't work in each of the 2 class rooms. The place is always hot. Like 82*F hot, so while you can put clothes on, you can't take off to a certain point, and there is little or no airflow. That's why hardly no one uses the cardio. Bathrooms are ok, but pretty humid so you don't wanna spend more time than you need to while in there. If shower diff. Use shower shoes. I blame corporate and their ideas. Parking is in the parking garage, and you get 2hrs free (from the time getting the ticket), and they have a ticket scanner thingy...so that's cool. Building does not have solar, so smart move from the building owner. This location could have absolutely had the 2nd floor continue across the space instead of 40ft ceilings. So, that's a loss of a ton of machines. I feel like the staff, and good people who just wanna get in and get out and not be loud and annoying, or a negative, deserve better, but LA gyms are just the worst and they know you are not going to drive more than 20min to...

No signature amenities like pool, sauna, steam room Racquetball court or even basketball courts. But you do get one fluffy towel. 🤔 I'm not sure why they call it a Signature Club. I didn’t see Wi-Fi available at all, at this location like I have around the USA. For example in Michigan Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Oregon, Indiana, Florida or even Texas. You do have to walk a block once you have parked your car under the whole Food market to get to the gym and keep your parking ticket to have it validated, before you leave the gym or you have to park at a meter and pay. The staff is wonderful at this location they do try their hardest, I find them helpful and kind. but LA Fitness Company didn’t give them much to work with . Sometimes when a company becomes so big they become greedy and this is what happens. they are kind of like the airlines today they want the most money for the least provided amenities. It’s all about their shareholders. Not as much about the customer. There is No mirrors in front of free weights❗️However this gym is clean for the most part ✅ unlike the Woodland Hills location, studio city location or the Van Nuys location That are absolutely filthy. And it is possible at this Tarzana location to find a moment where you could be alone at the gym and not deal with hordes of people waiting and staring at you at the face, while you’re...
