Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the circus of golf aka "The Turfed DMV" Rancho Park. Were the first answer is generally "no” to anything asked of a city employee and you are likely to end up either with a sizeable doording from some barnyard that parks his model X right on the parking stripe or get all your long clubs yanked out of your car because you got cased while parking, then prepping you daybag for the par 3 course and stupidly leaving the house behind in the your lifted huge suburban...... then someone has a alarm decoder and just opens your car takes your long clubs cuz you are trying to play the par 3 and you get to the 4th hole and get a text alert from amex cuz 7500 just got spent at Nordstroms in the westside pavilion (before it died) why? Because who brings and amex to a place that's 4 bucks to play golf. Yeah that's a true story. Don't leave a damn thing in your car at rancho and definitely not your clubs, cards (even if hidden as mine were). So we've had our ups and downs. Ups being the range is open till 10 pm (stop selling balls at 9) downs being puzzled how the exact same group of 4 tee off every Sunday morning first off....even though it's radom sign ups 10 days out which by my math says that's statistically impossible....Huh?...
Read morei would give zero stars if I could. Employee was rude as hell. Ball machine was broken and stopped dispensing balls. I went to the snack bar next to the ball machine to ask for help, said “hi the ball machine is broken and not dispensing balls”. The guy in the snack shop said I was rude and went out to argue with me, calling me “rude” because I didn’t say “hello”, even after I said multiple times “I don’t want to argue with you.” It’s bad enough that one of the ball machines was out of service and people were forming lines and taking 15min to just get a bucket of balls, and to have the ball machine stop dispensing when it’s finally their turn, but to face such a ridiculous and relentless employee who argues with the customer and distorts the truth (last time I checked a “hi” is the same as a “hello”) is the last straw. People come here to have a good time, not to be called rude and chased after relentlessly by an employee who doesn’t know what is customer service. If he wants people to beg him, maybe he should not be...
Read moreIf you are new to golf 🏌🏼♂️, then you know you will be spending lots of time in the driving range to improve your game. This is probably the best driving range in West LA. The place is clean, grasses are well maintained, has plenty of parking and is fairly priced, you could get 100 balls for $10 (credit cards accepted). Also, this place is double-decked with plenty of space between each bay. There will be club rentals if you don't have your own. As a side note, the golf course is definitely picture worthy during sunset 🌇!
Overall, I am not going to bash on this driving range just because the place is crowded. It's probably crowded because the place is well run. I have been here twice and thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
TIPS: If you decide to play on the second floor, please note that only irons are allowed to...
