Worst hotel experience i've ever had. Went #2 in the bathroom the first night I checked in. Wouldn't flush. Thought it might be my fault but night manager told me they had plumbing issues throughout building and was very apologetic because maintenance only works from 8am-10pm. I've never complained about any hotel experience before and am usually a chill guy, so I used public restroom when i needed to again that night, and maitenance guy did show up in morning to "allegedly fix toilet". I actually extended my room because I was staying in LA and needed a hotel for the night. Manager agrees to give me "special rate" of $189 "for my troubles" and I extend, and then leave for the day to meet a colleague and goto the Dodgers game. I DID NOT use the toilet after it was "fixed."
I return home from the dodgers game that night, do my business in the bathroom thinking it would work. It did not. I goto the night manager (different guy this time) who offers me a free breakfast lol. I return to my room angrily, knowing I now had to spend another night with fresh poop filling the aroma of my room. Even better, when I go to get stuff from my car and my uber eats order, I see the night manager coming and going out of a guest room 3 doors down from me not once, but twice.
I call the assistant GM the next day and tell him I want a refund for just the second night. He says no. I tell him I'm gonna complain to corporate, and that if i knew the plumbing was bad I would have stayed somewhere else. He still claims "theres nothing he can do" and TRIES TO BLAME IT ON ME. I've got video of the toilet (feel free to reach out to me here and Ill be glad to share. Video file is too big to attach to review). But what I can attach is a video of an industrial flood dryer OUTSIDE OF SOMEONE ELSE'S ROOM, proving that there were indeed drastic plumbing issues throughout the building (i have video too, feel free to send me a message and happy to share it all).
Oh and the best part of all, I GOT CHARGED $288 FOR THE ROOM DESPITE THE LIAR OF A MANAGER TELLING ME HE WOULD GIVE ME A SPECIAL ROOM RATE FOR 100 DOLLARS LESS.
Worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life and only time I've ever posted a review of a hotel for any reason. These people are shady liars, and stupid thieves who tried to overcharge me for my visit. Obviously charged it back on my Bank of America card. Avoid this place like the plague. Apparently the night manager is sneaking into open rooms to do something in the middle of the night too.
Oh and when I called corporate I found out that the manager had indeed told Marriott corporate "the issue had been closed because he already gave me the 'special' room rate and a free breakfast". I swear the only reason I felt compelled to charge back and write this review wasn't even because of what happened but because these idiots lied both about blaming the toilet on me, and telling corporate it was already resolved even though i told the manager point blank if he didnt refund me i was calling corporate, and then STILL tried to overcharge me what they claimed they were going to. THE TRUTH SHALL...
Read moreI booked this place based upon the great reviews, and I was disappointed. I am trying to find a place to stay in the area every other weekend, but will never stay here again. ||I am writing this especially for the front desk evening worker and the Bistro staff. I can't imagine that anyone can call them hotel staff. Unprofessional and rude. Questions were met by "No, you have to ask someone else". Who else is there to ask? They are the staff, and there is only 1 person working at the desk! There is no one else to ask. Any time I asked about check-out, or a simple question about parking, the response was "Ask the person who is here tomorrow ." I believe this is their famous line. I didn't mind, though. It happens.||What I DID mind that was completely unacceptable was the staff on the second floor (the "Bistro"). When we asked for a utensil , It was "no, I can't give you that." It was in plain sight, but she said it was an hour past the eating time. I pointed to it, and she shook her head. Expect every staff member in the building to respond in this manner. |Hotels usually bend over backwards trying to look for a plastic spoon or a napkin. At this hotel, the answer was consistently "No" when things were in plain sight. I gave up and just went to my room. |No one is sitting at the front desk and even if you wait around, no one comes out. When they finally do come out, they do not know how to answer any questions. I don't blame them--it is not their fault that upper management who is responsible for hiring just hires anybody. Maybe they are short-staffed in the hotel industry as everywhere else, so Let's all give them grace. |However, if you need to feel safe and make sure your plans don't go awry, I would not recommend this Courtyard. The hotel is just so -so, and I will not stay there again even though I have to go to the area frequently. Not a pleasant experience. The location is good if you need to be in the area, though. Good parking (expensive, but worth it) and great central place to catch Ubers. Not many tv channels compared to Fairfield or Residence Inn, so only book here if you want a night's sleep--but not to stay in the room to relax. And certainly not if you are new to the area. It's a good place for residents of L.A. county who already know the system, or for those who are staying 1 night and leaving early in...
Read moreI had a work trip in Beverly Hills so decided to stay here for 3 nights. Upon checking in, front desk, Touger, was very nice and kindly thanked us for being a Titianium Elite member with Marriott. Our room was on 4th floor facing the busy street. Room was fine, typical old school Courtyard. Since we would be working most of the day, we weren’t really planning to spend much time at hotel. However, nightmare, literally nightmare, started night before we checked out. We got back around 9pm, showered and got ready for bed. Moment we got to bed, the fire alarm went off, it was loud and terrified. We didn’t know what to do, should we evacuate or not. It stopped after we put clothes on and about to leave room so we went back to bed. An hour later, it went off again for another minute, we tried to call front desk but line was busy - guess everyone had same question. It stayed like that all night until morning, meaning every hour the fire alarm went off over and over again, yet no note or explanation was provide. We had work early that morning and both exhausted from lack of sleep and overwhelming from loud alarm at night. Not surprised at this point, when we checked out at 9am, the alarm was still going on and there were a line of people were angry and leaving. We also learned from a couple at lobby that the alarm was actually starting early the day before around 1pm so alarm was on and off for almost 24 hours. It’s unbelievable. When we expressed our experience and fraustration to Marco, guest experience supervisor, at check out, he simply said “you know sometimes those wires might mess up somewhere so it took a while to figure out”. No apology offer. Well we paid for accommodation so we can get some sleep but apparently it’s not the case here at this hotel. We also got charged for internet which we shouldn’t have to because of our status as well as an item from their market that we never got. We had to complained twice to get it fixed! We definitely not coming back to this hotel ever and recommend their management to really look at their operation. Only nice people their was our front desk person at check...
