Cool gift shop and school merch, but the management wasn’t much help.
I went to buy a pen and didn’t realize it had the same packaging as the mechanical pencil. As I settled in to study, I opened the package only to realize that it wasn’t the pen that I thought to have purchased. Given, I had tossed my receipt since I believed it to be a done deal. I went back to ask for an exchange since I do not use pencils in any of my work and ultimately $4 for it. The cashier asks the next person above them for assistance and was told not to process anything regarding my exchange. I showed her my Apple Pay summary on it with only a 30 min span of purchase before realizing the mistake. They both refused and told me that they could not help because the packaging was open. Due to the package being open, they could not resell it. I obliged that I could not use it at all because I do not use pencil and asked if they could try pulling up a transaction number to process the exchange as an exception. And I was told straight out that it would inconvenience them since they would have to damage out the pencil if they made the exception and they did not want to do that.
As someone who runs a large retail store while in school, I found this off putting all the way around. I’m much aware of handling transactions and item damage-outs + store policy. Neither of which was against policy, but refusal by the two who insisted there was nothing for them to do. Overall, one store for accessible items but the customer service needs some revitalizing as they were rude and had no...
Read moreI bought an Apple Air iPad 3 on 2019 at the UCLA campus store. Not to mention I got beats headphones as a gift because that was their deal. After a year and 11 months my iPad screen broke so I took it to a shop to get it fixed and they told me that they couldn’t fix it because they didn’t have the part due to being another 3rd party part. My iPad was was supposed to be a 1st party part due the serial number, further they explained that Apple sells obsolete Apple products and we can’t get the same protection. My “iPad air 3rd generation” turned out to be an iPad pro which is a year old. Apple would not take care of it, and a secondary place would charge you too much. Therefore they cheated me, UCLA campus cheats us by us thinking we are purchasing quality and at the end we are purchasing, but second and even third second hand items but for original prices. Therefore we get defected damaged devices and they make us purchase Apple insurance (Apple care). So that teaches me a lesson to not buy Apple products in the UCLA campus, and just because I needed it and got a “free” headphones this is what I get, never again. I am concerned because my sister bought the Apple Mac air laptop and it has 120 GB and all of the sudden is full of memory. This thought me not to buy from you guys it’s a shame! Aside from all the protocols you...
Read moreI’m an alumni of UCLA, and recently went in to purchase a few UCLA branded clothing items. The bill was really high, but anything with the UCLA logo usually is so I kind of left it alone. Once I got home I decided to look at the receipt. I got a shock when I realized I paid two hundred dollars for a pair of joggers with a tiny UCLA logo on it. I couldn’t justify paying that amount of money for some joggers so I went back to return them. The cashier literally did everything but take a magnifying glass to inspect the pants to see if I had worn them. The pants still had a clean tag attached. She then called a manager to ask if she could accept the return. Really bad offensive customer service here, but then again, even as a student here I remember it being questionable. UCLA really makes a big deal out of their overpriced cheap items! The logo keeps the prices outrageously high but the quality is terrible! Do...
