This is my first time ever writing a complaint about this store. I've been a loyal customer for 10 years because it's conveniently located near my house and because the staff has always been incredibly helpful.
NOTE: There's another yelp reviewer talking about the same store manager (Diana) being rude to customers in this store!)
On December 21, 2024, I visited two Ulta stores: one on West Hollywood and another on Pico Blvd Midtown. At Pico Blvd midtown store, I encountered a cashier who attempted to assist me with a purchase I had made earlier that day. It was an Alterna mousse that I had bought with my 20% off coupon and my points at West Hollywood. I mentioned that I had forgotten to use my manufactured $5 off coupon from Alterna at West Hollywood, and the cashier immediately stated that he would look into it and that he might get into trouble for asking the manager.
When the manager, Diana, arrived, she became visibly upset and I explained that I had forgotten to use the coupon and that the purchase had been made that day. She mentioned about her policy and that she will not accept more discounts if there was another discount made before. I pointed out that this new policy she mentioned isn't mentioned in any other stores. Despite my efforts to clarify the situation, Diana refused to look at my receipt and insisted on enforcing her policy.
I felt frustrated and disappointed because she didn't even try to help me use the coupon that was about to expire this month. I had never encountered such rudeness and condescension from a store manager before. I hope that someone higher up in management will investigate Diana's behavior, as she clearly doesn't want to help customers and seems to have a negative attitude...
Read moreChris the salon manager is not good. Needs to be fired for his unprofessionalism. He fried my friends hair then didn't want to fix it. So we spoke to the manager of ulta. He does not take constructive criticism in a professional manner when my friend went in there today after the ulta manager Fernanda promised to get my friends hair fixed. Her hair is horrible, I could've done the same work by bleaching it myself. Gone to Sallys and bought the products myself. Today they backed out on the agreement. I wasn't able to be there with my friend unfortunately. I promise I will be calling corporate because I called to be able to speak to him. I spoke to him in a more than professional manner and he decided not to listen to what I had to say and he hung up on me. Trust that there will be a retaliation against his actions in a legal manner. I have a lot of buddies that work with well know TV channels and I will blast the hell out of this guy on the media. So be prepared Chris. I will make sure you get fired!!! I will wreck your so called professionalism because you have no customer service and you are a horrible hairdresser. DO NOT LET CHRIS TOUCH YOUR HAIR!!!! DON'T GO TO ULTA TO GET YOUR HAIR DONE!!! This place needs to get rid of all its employees and hire new ones that actually have great customer service. Go take a few classes on how to treat people and handle a situation. Not just treat them for what they may look. Just because someone walks in there looking all ratchet doesn't mean that they don't have any money and if they didn't you should treat people how you want...
Read moreI had a very mixed experience at Ulta. I had an appointment scheduled for makeup while I was in town for a wedding. My flight was running late, so I called to let the store know I would be about 15 minutes behind. I understood that most salons allow a 15-minute grace period, but when I spoke with an employee named Artie, he was extremely rude. He told me I might not be seen since Christina, the makeup artist, had a busy schedule. His tone and words left me unsure if I should even come in, stating the Christina will give me a call to let me know if she can still do my make up. At that point I felt very stressed and worried that I wouldn’t have makeup for the wedding. Thankfully, I decided to still show up—and I am so glad I did. Christina greeted me with warmth, kindness, and professionalism. She reassured me, listened to what I wanted, and delivered beautiful makeup with more than enough time. She completely turned my experience around and made me feel confident and cared for. I absolutely loved my makeup. I am still disappointed with how Artie spoke to me on the phone. His approach was unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and did not reflect the welcoming service I later received. If it hadn’t been for Christina, I honestly would not have gone through with the appointment. Overall, I was very happy with Christina’s work and would highly recommend her. I only hope Ulta addresses the way Artie communicates with customers, especially those traveling from out of town who rely on their appointments...
