Read moreThis is a very well-maintained, almost idyllic little park area, which is actually a fairly sizable, very green, and relatively safe place to have a family picnic. It's actually a relatively small, quarter-mile part of a much larger park system, stretching several miles, except that this little Shangri-la is separated off from the rest of the park by a freeway, and it's nestled in a small, upper-middle-class neighborhood, with little access between this and the rest of the park system, so you have very well maintained public bathrooms, a sizable pavilion area, with quite a few picnic tables, and 2 fairly sizable, well-equipped children's play facilities, with several sets of swings, slides and climbing areas, plus as mentioned, a very large green area. Read moreThis Park is the best thing I've been able to enjoy in Sherman Oaks for the past 13 years. As I live in front of it, I've been able to enjoy the brand new synthetic soccer fields (free of charge before 6 pm, 7 days a week), basketball fields, tennis courts & the large pool available for adults for just $4 ($1 seniors & kids!). Grilled Pick-nick are allowed. No overnight parking, you will be most definitely getting a parking ticket. It's a family orientated park, kept clean and safe at all times during the day; on night time my best advice is to have a bright flesh light always on with you (& maybe a pepper spray) Even if I have not whitness any accidents during pm hours for over the past decade, I still would be precautios during the night hours. This Park is truly Sherman Oaks GEM, a little paradise in the middle of a chaotic...
