First of all, When we came in, there was a big boy hiding in the corner eating and that is literally all he did the entire time. Customer service was Terrible. I alerted the front desk that there was a mirror that was not fully attached to the wall. When I brought the mirror down to my face, it fell off of the wall and broke. I also alerted the Housekeeping staff that this was an issue. She did not speak English, but it seemed like she understood what I was saying. I took photos and videos. I look at my bank statement and this guy who was working on August 5, 2025 when we checked in has charged our card for $50 to replace an old, broken mirror that had been already been fixed a few times as it appeared on the pictures and videos. Not to mention it wasn’t even attached to the wall properly. Whoever it fell down on the first time tried to reattach it or they must have done a rinky-dink repair. I do intend to go back over to the hotel to demand to view this mirror that they have charged me $50 for it because I’ll bet you they have not repaired it. I did dispute the charge with my bank and sent them the videos as well and they removed the charge right away. I hope that they fire this good for nothing Employee who did nothing but sleep on the job and eat The entire time we were there. When we were leaving, he caused us to be late and almost missed our flight because when you park in the parking garage cars can park behind you. Even though you pay for parking, you may not get a parking spot. Anyway, someone parked behind me and we could not find big boy. I cannot recall his name for almost 20 minutes, so my husband was blowing the horn. I’m sure after this issue he was annoyed which is why all of a sudden there’s a $50 charge on our card. That is not the only reason why I would not recommend this place. The room is literally bare bones. No phone, no water, the refrigerator does not get cold. No room service, no nothing. For the price you could stay at a beautiful Airbnb or a different hotel, which is what we will recommend and what we will do going forward. They also have a very big roaches in the parking lot and on the bottom floor. One more thing, the gentleman was also extremely annoyed that we had a service dog. My husband has disabilities and I could sense the discrimination. When we first arrived, he placed us in a room that was facing a very large construction site. I let him know that because of the noise, the Service animal would probably be distracted from alerting my husband about his medications, cardiac issues, and seizure notifications. He was extremely annoyed. Reluctantly, he moved us to another room, but he made sure to lecture us before. Anyway, I would not stay here. There’s no front desk staff people can walk in and out whenever they want. The neighborhood is sketchy as well. But most of all this employee is terrible. He should be fired for charging things to people’s credit cards without authorization for one and for sleeping at...
Read moreThe room was clean, which is super important! So that was a good first impression. The room we stayed in though barely had any lights? Our family in another room had a huge standing lamp, but in our room all we had was a table side lamp, a desk lamp, and one in front of the entry hall/door. So nights were super dim.
At one point we had set out a card for our room to be cleaned, but when we came back it was flipped around to Do Not Disturb and the room hadn’t been touched… but the next day we asked a housekeeper if she would take care of it, and she was very sweet and accommodating!
Location was very convenient, we could walk many places we wanted to eat and it was within a 15 minute driving distance to basically anywhere we needed to go, including Universal Studios.
We were a little bummed that they still weren’t doing complementary breakfast, but understanding of it. On the bright side they had free unlimited coffee and a cozy little room to sit and chat in the morning!
Now, the main bad part of our stay. I was with my grandmother, who is an older immigrant and not great at english, as well as a few family members who spoke no english and were visiting from another country. There was one man who checked us in who was very rude. He was working the night of the 9th and I believe the 10th. He was condescending and had no patience. My family was polite, but confused. There was confusion with the rooms that was eventually figured out and turned out to be okay, but I was very surprised by the way he treated my family. I am a person in my early 20s who has only worked customer service jobs. I speak to people the way they speak to me, and if someone doesn’t understand something, I do my best to explain it to them with a kind tone, especially if there is a small language barrier. I do not give redundant answers, sigh, roll my eyes, give dead-end replies like “what do you want me to do about it?” and blantantly ignore people when they are being polite. He literally was exasperated that my friend asked if they had silverware. Like I said, I understand being upset with rude customers, we are all human. But I cannot rationalize the way this guy acted. More than anything, I am hurt and offended by the way my grandmother was treated on the multiple occasions we had to encounter this employee.
Overall, a good experience if you’re looking for a reasonably charged hotel to stay in for Universal Studios. But hopefully this employee doesn’t consider hospitality a career choice, because he is definitely...
Read moreBooked the NoHo sweet, primarily for two reasons: 1 - I loved the pictures of the balcony, and 2 - me and my girlfriend were both going to be working for the trip and having multiple rooms would be nice. We also had 1 car and I had to leave early to go to warehouses, so having continental breakfast there she could grab was a must, and I made sure it was listed on their website before booking.
The balcony pictures are completely misrepresenting - the picture shows turf and outdoor furniture, a coffee table, an umbrella, and makes it seem very private. It's a dirty cement floor with a dirty sectional around a drain. No coffee table, no umbrella, and there's another door from another room.
The internet was horrible. Speedtests showing 1MG download through most of the days. Not only were wifi calls choppy most of the time, but were just completely dropping every few minutes throughout the entire day. They have no upgraded internet option.
There was no continental breakfast. Just coffee. Despite it still being listed under every room on their actual website.
This threw so many wrenches into our first day and overall was just a huge letdown. When I politely brought these issues up to the guy at the front desk, he went through the motions, but really didn't seem to care. The only solution they had to the internet was to open the business center on the second floor (one floor below us) which might have better internet, but we didn't book a big suite to spend all day in the business center for hopefully a better connection. As for the breakfast, they just took a picture of my phone showing their website and recommended a restaurant nearby. As for the deck, he didn't really respond.
We ended up canceling the remainder of the reservation (which was a lot of work and stress) and having to find another hotel last minute, which ended up costing more for a standard hotel room, but at least it had good internet.
They then charged me for parking (had no idea there was a parking charge), and when I called to get a receipt because it was charged to my company card, they said they'd send me one but it'd show $0. I still don't quite understand why. The guy I talked to for that was nice enough and eventually figured it out, though.
Overall a very disappointing, stressful, and...
