Van Nuys Family Dentistry — Attraction in Los Angeles

I have been coming to this dentist since i was a kid(4years old). Now as an adult and having kids of my own i realized this dentist is a complete horror scene. Not only am i terrified of the dentist (AS AN ADULT) but my children are too from coming here. The pedodontist puts the kids in a room all the ways in the back so nobody can hear the screams of pain and wont let the parents be in the rooms while the procedure it being done. Let alone staffing is terrible! Another dr there whom happens to be an Armenian/Russian lady traumatized my 4 year old. She has never met him before and my son is very shy and has social anxiety; she told him to stop being a baby and look how his sister was doing better than him and shes younger( he does not have a sister nor knew who that girl was) she was trying to force him to sit on the chair when she clearly was speaking to him very rudely and made a terrible first impression. Was not following covid protections and let anyone go in and out. Let kids run in and out while other clients were inside. The receptionist was rude and homophobic. Called ahead days in advance to make sure insurance and orthodontist will be in on the appointment date but when I got there they said she did not work that day. Then proceeded to say my insurance was not covered even though she was the same person I spoke to when setting the appointment. Kept questioning if my sisters son was hers just because of the way she looks. Would not work with our schedule and made it clear we has to work with their schedule. For a family that works until 2pm and has a child in school the receptionist was adamant that we had to make it convenient for them. Would not recommend going here. The people are not nice and their work ethic is poor. Had to leave because we did not feel safe of comfortable there. It is unfortunate that this dental office is failing to help during my dental emergency. I have a broken tooth and need a root canal, but they aren’t following through. They promised to call me back but haven’t, and they also didn’t provide any antibiotics. The office manager assured me I’d hear from them within 48 to 72 hours with more information about my case—it’s now been over a week and a half, and I still haven’t heard anything. I had to contact a dental hotline myself to finally get antibiotics.

When I called the office to request my x-rays, I’m told they need additional information from my insurance, which they never informed me about. The poor communication is leaving me stranded with a broken tooth, and to make things worse, the person I speak with doesn’t even offer an apology on behalf of the staff.
