Habit Burger & Grill — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I was glad to see The Habit Burger Grill just opened in my area. (Its located across the street from Big 5 near Sepulveda/Van Nuys). We noticed it open a short time ago without any fan-fair or advertising in mail or any ads. We were curious and LOVE burgers so we wanted to put it to the test. Walking up to the Habit you can see the smoke of the char-broiler and when you park, the smell of the char-broiler is very magical for burger fanatics such as my gf and I. The interior is very clean and modern. The staff was friendly and the place was busy on a Saturday afternoon. We were happy to see support for the restaurant considering we saw no advertising, mail circulars or hear about any grand opening and we live close. We were happy to be there and so were a lot of other people that filled the restaurant with sit down meals and to go meals. The FOOD WAS GREAT! Full of flavor, cooked to perfection, and Delicious! I ordered a Char Meal (Charbroiled Cheeseburger with the works + Onion rings + medium soda). All was cooked perfectly. The Onion rings tasted great as well. I'm sure we have all had onion rings what were cooked in old oil and it tasted old right? Not here. These were cooked perfectly as was the burger.

We are glad to have them in our neighborhood. Expect us to be back again...and again...

This ain't your Dad's burger joint. THE HABIT BURGER GRILL delivers quality fast food at a fair price. Has since 1969 when it opened in Santa Barbara, California. It's not one of those uppity ones either. You get good stuff here. At a fair price. Service is excellent.

The order counter sits at the front of the restaurant, just ahead of the open kitchen. You place an order, drop a few bucks, and are handed a vibrating beeper. A few minutes later it goes off (loud if placed on a table) cueing your return. The counter person double checks it to see if everything matches your order.

The kitchen builds a choice of burgers, vegan and conventional, as well as, a selection of sandwiches, and salads. The French fried sweet and white potatoes, or the breaded, then fried, green beans, cauliflower, and onion rings, can make a meal all by themselves.

The self-service Pepper Bar is loaded with pepperoncini, sports, and jalapenos. Be cautious with the jalapenos slices. Yes, they're that hot.

The unlimited refill, Cold Drink Bar offers about a dozen choices.

I think Dad would have liked The Habit. I do.

My Husband and I were here June 23rd 2023 at 9:30 pm and we don't eat at chain fast food restaurants much...if we lived in Cali we'd probably would because there is a huge variety of good fast food options even healthier options and I'd include The Habit as one of those many options in Cali. We live in Alabama but originally from Cali, we were visiting Cali at the time of our visit to this The Habit location . I was craving The Habit so badly, there is definitely not one in Alabama. By the time we be in Upland, that location would be closed for the day, so we went to this one since it was closer to where we were at at the time . Even though this review is so late JUST KNOW WE REMEMBER the AMAZING great, effective, efficient and kindness we recieved here. We were blown away...so much so I remembered we didn't review like we promised and said we would do. I wanted to make sure reviewed y'all ! In Georgia & ATL most fast food quick service places lack good service completely & it does effect the food & experience as a whole. But at this location we were reminded how important good service is and how much more the food was SOO BOMB! I miss that good food RIGHT NOW ! But maybe next time when we visit Cali again!
