First, let me say; The actors did AMAZING, they were giving it 110% and really made the experience uh...well interesting. ~ SPOILERS ~ The concept for this event confuses me, it feels as if the nudity thrown in was for shock. It added nothing, no social commentary, no nothing. There was no theme, rhyme, or reason for any of the skits. My fiancé and I could not tell what vibe they were trying to go for. Like some of the skits were just downright funny if that was meant to be...I don't know.
The only thing that remotely scared me was the "Aztec Ritual" performance scene. It seems as if they relied on loud noises and the pitch darkness to bring in the scares, and if you ask me that's a cheap tactic.
Due to that, I gotta give it two stars. Personally, it's not my thing and I don't think it's worth the $17.50 per ticket/15 mins of your life. (Unless you're REALLY into SUPER avant garde theatre...
Read moreI came for Urban Death and I didn't know what to expect except that I thought it would be a haunted INTERACTIVE play (similar to Delusion)
But even though it wasn't interactive, and more of sit down and watch this performance, it was money well spent.
The blackened walled theater sits about 35 people so it's fairly intimate and you're close to the actors. There is no dialogue, and the usage of well-timed lights, cutting of lights, and actors expressions is very well done.
It's about an hour long, and the actors perform short skits/scenarios that are meant to horrify, disturb and make you very uncomfortable. They do have some bits of comic relief here and there to ease the tension but overall I loved it!
Bravo to all the actors/actresses! They have additional plays too so definitely check this place out if you're a...
Read moreSaw urban death tour of terror. Not scary at all, very lewd just for the sake of being lewd. You go through a small "maze" before entering a very small "theatre", the entire show seemed to consist of nudity with no actual purpose ( maybe fetishism?? ) Maybe I just lack artistic sense, but I was expecting more of a Halloween scare, and was instead just repeatedly shown mediocre genitals. Shock value ? Perhaps ? The Halloween hayride in griffith Park was scarier. No stars. (Also no ids were checked and this was entirely a nude show) for the lack of information online about this event, coming in almost completely blind I wish I had an educated view before...
