We got married at Blackacre and everything was perfect!! We used the Tyler House for getting ready, it’s such a beautiful historic home and was honestly one of the selling points for me. We were given the ability to get married at any location of our choosing which was wonderful, and we chose in front of the big tree by the horses. Highly recommend this spot! The horses almost stole the show. We also used the barn and a tent (which we rented from another company) for reception. Our guests raved about the beautiful grounds and loved visiting with the horses and goats! Recommend bring apples for them as all of our guests had fun feeding them. I want to give a big shout out to Susan and Dennis. They were both so helpful and made sure we were taken care of. And an even bigger shout out to Amy James. She’s the venue coordinator who we also used to coordinate the wedding. She was so wonderful and helpful every step of the way. I truly believe our day was perfect because of her help! Thank you to everyone at Blackacre for maintaining such a beautiful place. We can’t wait to visit again and relive our day plus explore some of the trails and visit with...
Read moreThey advertised Valentine's Dinner. Called it "Valentine's Dinner." Charged $200/2 ppl in advance for $60 of food from Martini's. Didn't say on the ad that it was on Feb 10. Sent an email confirmation that didn't say it was on Feb 10. Sent a text reminder that didn't say it was on Feb 10. Sent a 'thank you' text on Feb 11 that said, "Thank you for coming to this year’s Valentine’s Day" even though we weren't there, because, like a normal person, I expected to go to Valentine's Dinner on Valentine's day. It was only then that I realized they had Valentine's dinner on Feb 10. Hopefully I can go to their Christmas Eve dinner the week after Thanksgiving, and their 4th of July fireworks in March....

It was really hot that day and it seemed a little cruel to me to not let them have anything to drink. Also they were covered in flies. There are wipes for horses that have fly repellent that could have been used to prevent at least some of this. At the very least they could have rotated some of them out so they could run around and not be...
