Had a storage unit here. Rats ate and broke a lot of our stuff like funiture, printer, and vacuum. No one ever contacted us about it but there was rat poison put inside the storage unit without us knowing about it being a problem. So they knowingly knew it was a problem and decided not to tell us which caused the rats to destroy a lot of valuable things. When my husband picked up the couch there was rotting rats inside. There was rat poop in a lot of our stuff, chewed off items. My husband and I kept calling them and they wouldn’t answer the phone. Finally he went there and a worker said their system was down and that they couldn’t do anything for now but to take pictures of the stuff and email it to them, she will send it to her manager and they will contact us. After that we never heard from them. We kept calling and no one answered. We also went by there and no one was there. On top of paying for the monthly storage unit we were also paying for storage insurance. We never got refunded any more for all the stuff we lost from it being destroyed by the rats.

"Public Storage: 5 Stars" - said no one ever, but then I met Kent, Alicia and the Fairy God Mother of The Orange Steel Doors: Kendra.

THIS IS YOUR STORAGE UNIT. Dreading it? Don't. It is the Ritz Carlton of Public Storage.

Let me first day I was absolutely DREADING Public Storage - most of them are the things nightmares of made of. Anyone who has ever been to one, had a storage unit (and has also seen Silence of the Lambs) knows it's NOT fun, nothing ever goes smoothly, and trying to work or communicate with someone is like having your teeth pulled with no Novocain.

I was driving up from Florida with my bootleg conman movers, and I called about a day away from Paramount Park, and got Kent. I told him I had gotten X storage unit, then made three special requests. He fulfilled them all like a Genie, without the games. Kent literally told me how many steps away my unit was from where my truck could park. Kent left me a cart and a lock. Clark Kent I'm pretty sure.

After being up all night the day my movers left, I thought "wait - did they just run off with my stuff?", which would make sense the chain of events in my life. I got Kendra on the line and told her about my movers likely running off with my stuff, fully panicked thinking they had made an extra key or bounced, but thank goodness, they only threw my stuff in like it was trash, and left half of it in Florida.

But KENDRA....she was sent by heaven.

She put a big black bolt "overlord" or {{insert term}} lock on. "No fear, Kendra's here" - me to me. Then she told me for extra safety she'd replace my lock with a new one, and hold the new key for me.

Stop in the next day after an email generated by corporate Public Storage that said "YOUR UNIT IS OPEN" at 12:00am. #Panic.

When I got there, I met Alicia who stayed with me, listening to me YAP, anxiously dreading the inevitable loss of all my of my things. Alicia was on the phone with corporate, Public Storage codes hotline, and simultaneously on the phone with someone to cut the bolt lock off.

...My Boston/NYC-self was highly skeptical. Nothing goes right ESPECIALLY at Public Storage? What was their hidden motive?

None. They're just happy to help, and run this location like it's their own family—I wish Kent, Alicia, and Kendra were my Moms and Dad, things would have turned out differently.

BUT wait...the next day, I'm touring houses, with a broken service lab, after moving 8 times, thinking my stuff has being trafficked, but I call and Kendra answers. She says a literal prayer for me, and lord knows, I'm living on a prayer right now, but not only that "she'll stay till the end of her shift"??????????? and wait for me to finish seeing houses????????? "No rush"....???????????

I pull into the storage unit. KENDRA is waiting with her arms open smiling holding treats for my Labrador, a light shines down, flowers bloom out of her hands, and this lovely blonde, bling adorned angel takes me to my unit, just radiating positivity and happiness.

We get into the unit (wild). YAY! STUFF (some of it). It's thrown around like it's trash, but it's there with a new lock. At this point, I'm still worried that I can't see half my stuff, so Kendra says, I'll be back. She returns with a ladder two times the size of Kendra, and holds it as I almost fall into my storage unit, just to take video of nothing, hoping I'll identify x thing or x thing.

They are SO warm, and so helpful, and all three of them are Public Storage's employees of the century in the whole US of A.

This is no ordinary Public Storage, this is a the gold standard of accessibility and assistance.

Have stuff to store? May I suggest Paramount Park for all of your storage needs, a smaller location, that is nicer than the Hilton next door, with a lovely grassy area, clean, and filled with happy angels, who genuinely care about your stuff and keep their promises which is definitely not in their job requirements.

A++++ will hopefully but be back after I get my stuff out, but if I ever am, it will be Public Storage Paramount Park.

Not all...

A Monstrous Display of Corporate Greed Disguised as a Storage Facility

Let me save you the time, money, and frustration: DO NOT rent from Public Storage.

What looks like a convenient solution for your storage or parking needs is nothing more than a trap designed to extract every possible dollar from you while offering the bare minimum in return. My experience was not only disappointing — it was infuriating and insulting.

I rented a parking spot, paid full price like any other customer, and assumed — quite reasonably — that the space I was paying for could be used to its full extent. After all, it’s a rectangle of asphalt. I’m paying for the square footage. That’s how space works, right?

Wrong. Public Storage, in its infinite greed, decided to micromanage how I use the space I rent. I attempted to park two small trailers — both well within the limits of the designated spot — and was promptly told that I was violating company policy. Why? No one could give a clear answer, only that “corporate doesn’t allow it.” Let me be absolutely clear: These trailers were small utility trailers, not large vehicles or anything that would encroach on anyone else's space. I wasn't causing a hazard, obstructing anything, or being unreasonable. I was simply trying to get the full value of the spot I’m paying for every single month.

Apparently, “use of space” is only allowed as long as you’re not too clever about it. Heaven forbid you try to get your money’s worth.

This is corporate greed in its purest form — charging you for a resource and then limiting how you can actually use it, just so they can squeeze more out of the next person. It’s not about safety. It’s not about logistics. It’s about maximizing profit at the expense of the customer. Public Storage doesn't care about logic, fairness, or customer service. They care about rules for rules’ sake, and more importantly, your wallet.

The customer service was a joke. When I called to ask for clarification or help, I was bounced between local staff and corporate, neither of whom had the power or willingness to offer a solution. They might as well just say, “We have your money, now go away.”

You know what’s even more maddening? They will happily rent you two spots instead — of course they will — because this isn’t about policy, it’s about squeezing you for twice the rent.

Public Storage isn’t a storage company. It’s a slow-motion pickpocket operation. If you care about fairness, value, or just being treated like a rational adult instead of a walking ATM, look literally anywhere else.

This place is a textbook example of why people distrust big corporations. Cold, inflexible, and purely motivated by profit — customer satisfaction be damned.

Avoid this place...

I had an exceptional experience with Public Storage, and I am beyond impressed with the level of customer service provided, especially by Allyson. From the moment I walked into the facility, Allyson greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel at ease. She took the time to understand my specific needs and offered thoughtful recommendations that perfectly suited what I was looking for in a storage unit.

Allyson went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable throughout the entire process, from choosing the right size unit to explaining the terms and answering all my questions in detail. She was incredibly patient and thorough, never rushing through anything, and her knowledge of the facility and services was impressive. It’s clear that Allyson takes pride in her work, and her attention to detail made all the difference.

The Public Storage facility itself is also top-notch. It’s clean, secure, and well-maintained, which gave me peace of mind knowing my belongings were in good hands. The process of signing up and moving in was seamless, and I was able to access my unit with ease. The facility is well-lit, organized, and easily navigable, which is a big plus.

What really stood out to me, though, was Allyson’s dedication to customer satisfaction. She truly went the extra mile to make sure I had a smooth and positive experience. It’s not often that you encounter such excellent customer service, and Allyson made this experience one to remember.

I highly recommend Public Storage, especially this location, to anyone in need of storage solutions. If you’re lucky enough to work with Allyson, you’ll be in great hands! Her professionalism, friendliness, and commitment to helping customers are second to none. I’ll definitely be returning for any future...
