I very much enjoyed the event, Steve Martin and Martin Short. The parking lot was nice, recently paved, well maintained and normal sized spaces . The walk from lot was easy and Center easy to navigate once inside. 1/2 lost 🌟 for inadequate bathrooms and too few stalls for ladies room. 4 stalls and only found 1 bathroom with huge line. 1/2 lost 🌟for uncomfortable seating 1 lost 🌟 for too few registers at drink locations, all of them. The lines were so long that it was a huge bottle neck hehe Budweiser has bottlenecks I found 3 places to buy beverages and the counter space looked to be more than sizeable to add additional registers to those locations. Please fix this speed ,incredibly slow lines that were the longest wait I've had at all the other venues around metro Denver (Red rocks,Pepsi Center, fiddler's green, Bluebird, The Oriental..all concert locations basically ) .The lines stretched out so far into the breezeways as to cause collisions for people waking by and making areas super tight to get through. I saw no less than 2 people collide and spill their preciously obtained beer over the floor. The employees speed was fine and had pleasent demeanor. Could use some work on stocking drink locations adequately, I waited 10 min in one line to learn that they served the last Stella Cider (Omg thank you for carrying that particular cider as it is my absolute favorite one!) was served to person in front of me . I only drink cider when I drink alcohol and asked if other location would have it and they said yes , they also said that later on they would get more from warehouse but that is unacceptable as I only want one and don't want to miss any part of the show to get a drink unless there was intermission. So , second location .. was so long and confusing as to what line was for which items and it intersected with breezeway so much it was intimidating. Saw guy bumped into then and drink crashed to floor .So, continued until I was at last drink service area next to stairs at entrance while waiting there saw 2nd person get hit while walking in too tight area and drink went flying . This line appeared to be shorter but had to wait in much longer line for 15min to get a cider and I then missed the start of the show. The people behind me also annoyed bout show starting and pushing ahead. The lady in front of me saying that this was much better than when she took her kids there to see Disney on Ice as that occasion she spend at least 30min in line to get drinks for kids and was like that during entire event . Too many employees doing security metal detector abd scanning...
Read moreI feel really bad about this because this is NOT a complaint about the actual event center. It is a complaint about the food & beverage company called "ovations" that runs all concessions within the venue.
Me and my wife went to a concert and received an email the day before the event. It boasted about its Bar & Grill on the second floor and a special menu customized just for that specific concert event. I had already made dinner plans elsewhere but the menu looked very exciting, therefore, I cancelled my reservations with the other restaurant and made reservations for the location on site at the event center.
We showed up to find out that the "special menu" was a very basic and unimpressive buffet. We looked at each other and said "oh well, let's eat since we're here". We immediately noticed there were no plates, no dressing for the salad, and half of the food items were almost completely gone. We were one of the first guests to arrive which we thought was very odd... It took them over 10 minutes to bring out food and then they forgot the utensils to scoop the food (waited for another few minutes). This was a red flag that we ignored.
When we finally got our food, everything was overcooked. The beef wellington (something we were both extremely excited for) was severally overcooked to the point the meat inside was dry and leathery. The sauce was bland and bitter (truffle goes bad over high heat). The chicken was dry. The service wasn't any better either. When I had asked for a manager to discuss my concerns, it took a little while for her to come to our table. She didn't smile and was immediately defensive. I showed her the dry overcooked meat and she remarked "We have to cook the food to a specific standard". I squeezed the piece of meat to show not one drop of juice coming out and asked "is it supposed to be this dry?".
She offered to give us a discount (not comp the meal). I told her I did not plan on eating the meal and would rather find something in the concessions stand downstairs. She rolled her eyes and said fine, I'll adjust your bill. She charged us for the 2 drinks which we paid and immediately left.
The problem with this whole thing is that "Ovations" has the exclusive contract which means no competition which also means, they don't care because you have no other choice once on site. I'm pretty sure this complaint will fall on un-interested ears and nothing will change. I just know that I will never buy anything from them again and plan ahead by eating & drinking elsewhere before I arrive to any special event here.... Very...
Read moreThey honestly seem annoyed to actually have concert goers. Almost every employee interacted with was on edge and as such a little over the top with security.
My friend tried bringing in a very small purse within the size requirements but was turned away before we could even get in line, meanwhile many others walked past the same woman with larger purses/bags. Not sure what the deal was there.
We were there for the Weezer show and immediately tried to get into the merch line right next to the entrance but a guy put his hands in front of us, told us he had too many people trying to get through the line and sent us to the other merch spot (with a significantly longer line). When I mentioned this in an instagram message to the venue, they stated that merch was VIP only, however, there were no signs to indicate that and it’s not the reason the arena employee gave us. And it was hit or miss who he did or did not allow into the line (non-VIP people that is).
While trying to find the other merch spot we ended up at the end of the arena and were trying to turn around when an employee asked us with suspicion what we were doing. We told him we were just looking for the other merch spot which he then softened and gave us instructions to get there.
Then upon entering the floor area to get to the pit, we showed our tickets and were directed around the side and to the front. After being helped we started walking towards the pit and had two employees chase after us asking where we were going. We informed them that we had just shown our tickets (literally right where they were) and were going to the pit. From there things improved but it was such a bizarre concert experience.
The sound was a little off during the first band, Dinosaur Jr. but things improved. I don’t know if the staff was nervous or new to the job, but they seemed almost militant with people who paid lots of money to be there and have...
