If I could give Kay Jewlers in general a 0/10 I would. In February, my now fiancé and I went in during their Valentine’s Day sale. We purchased my engagement ring along with a matching wedding band along with his wedding band. My engagement ring was able to be given to me right out of the case since it fit me. The rings were taken home and placed in a lock box. My engagement ring did not leave the lock box until it was time for my fiancé to propose and the ring itself stayed in the box from Kay Jewlers until he actually got down on one knee. After the ring was put on my finger in May, I noted there was a defect on the band portion. I didn’t even have the ring on for a week before it then had to go back to the store to be sent out to be polished and the defect removed. I’ve spent multiple hours speaking to multiple people trying to resolve this issue. I called Kay’s customer service line who told me I then had to call the credit card company, who then told me I needed to call customer service, who then told me to call the store, who then told me to call customer service, who then told me they needed to contact the store. 10 days later I still have not received a return call from the store. Today I had to call customer service again to then be told that the store manager would call me. When I first spoke with the store manager, he wanted to exchange my current ring for a new one after it had already been fixed. I do not want a new ring! They’re not understanding the issue being that I was given a ring that was DEFECTIVE straight out of the jewelry case which for the amount of money I paid, I expect the piece to not be defective. There is an issue with quality control because it should be inspected before it gets sent to the store and then inspected when it gets to the store and then inspected before it is given to the client. An engagement is supposed to be an exciting time, but to then have to give your ring up to be sent for repair is ridiculous. I would NEVER recommend Kay Jewlers for any of my jewelry purchases. I don’t even want to return to the store for the every 6 month service that they do but I guess I’ll have to….
The final offering to me for this issue is a $75 gift card to kay jewelers…seriously $75 is a penny compared to the money spent on my ring....
Read moreI would not recommend going to this store. My fiancé and I went in to look and pick out an engagement ring back in the beginning of December. We were told that the ring would have to be remade to the size I needed and would be a few months. We were given a date mid February. So when it came to the end of February I called and asked what was going on? To be told that they couldn't just order the ring in the size i needed and they had to order it a size smaller then send it out to be resized and it would be in by March 21st. While upset I understood. Then march 21st came and went and heard nothing so I called again on March 31st. To this time be told that they sent out the wrong ring and they just sent out my ring to be resized and they will get it back no later than April 10th. Well today is April 11th. I called yesterday and it wasn't in it was just sent out April 9th to be to the store today with the shipment in at 3pm. Called today April 11th to be told not there we should have it on tomorrows shipment. On todays phone call I did express I was upset to just me told I'm Sorry nothing about feeling empathy for the whole situation we have been through. Its not like I'm trying to get money off of anything as the ring is already paid for in full with warranty for life.
Also just realized this is under my fiancés name instead of my own but this was written by...
Read moreI wouldn’t recommend this Kay Jeweler. 4th time I had to return my ring to this same exact store and this last time customer service AS ALWAYS couldn’t find the many times I had brought it in for repair. This time my diamond fell out, it was just repaired in December and when brought in this time customer service barely spoke, seemed annoyed, ring being inspected within 6 months made it seem as I though I was close to my 6 months with no inspection and had to pay (if they would have the systems right they would have seen I was JUST there a month ago) and lastly given a reciept with no instructions of how long it would take to repair. I’ve returned it so much that I had to tell him “2 weeks again?” The amount of money paid for these rings I don’t expect top notch customer service but at least SPEAK, be courteous and understanding because I’m highly annoyed to keep returning my ring when they should have gotten it...
