I called ReStore to have them pick up a used leather chair and couch as they claim to take gently used furniture. Because of COVID-19 they required that I move the furniture to my porchj though inconvenient, I understood. When they arrived to pick up the furniture they began to take pictures of the furniture and then proceeded to leave without a single explanation either by voice or telephone (they had my number). There are some scratches on the pieces as they have been moved several times during military permanent change of station moves. I can only surmise that they ONLY take new or like new furniture that has not been used such as a piece that cannot be returned to the store before it is used. The lack of communication and expectation is unacceptable due to the inconvenience of moving the furniture to my porch. I leave this review as a warning to others who might be tricked into the convenience of an at-home pickup. Half of the work of disposing of the furniture is already done at this point so I would advise potential donees to save themselves the time and just take your furniture to the landfill.

A true example of beggars can be choosers. Tried donating a great couch only to find out that it “it was too damaged”, it was a well-used couch with no stains & had a few threads pulls here & there but all in all nothing 5 minutes and a pair of scissors could not have fixed. We have donated heavily to the organization over the years but apparently their standards have gone up considerably. Thankfully, the people at Goodwill were thrilled to get the donation, it is a little more inconvenient but well worth it to...
