We stopped in at Hailey's in Lynchburg to shop for dishwasher. The young woman working that day was very informative and helped us narrow it down between two she even stayed past closing to answer our questions. I stopped back in to make the purchase on June 6th still deciding between the two. Edie help me make the decision between a Beko and Kitchen Aid. The Beko would be here in 2 weeks and the Kitchen Aid late July, Beko it is. Three weeks later my wife called to find out the status of the order. The woman who she spoke with said she would call her back, no call back. I called two days later and spoke with the same woman who said she was who my wife spoke with and apologized saying they were busy and short staffed. She advised me her manager was on vacation so no information was available. She did call the Altavista location to see if it may be there in the warehouse, they did not have it. She then said she would find out what was going on and promised to call me back the next day. I waited a week and a half for her promised call back, never got it. So yesterday July 10th I called to cancel the order. The gentleman that answered the phone never asked why I was canceling he just took my last name and to look the order up. I explained to him the reason, mainly due to lack of customer service. He never apologized for the phone calls not being returned nor did he attempt to find out why the dishwasher has not been delivered. The order was just canceled. I prefer to shop at locally owned businesses instead of box stores due to service. After posting this review Mr. Hailey reached out to me. He apologized for the experience which he was not aware of. I appreciate the apology and hope this is not going to be the norm for his employees. Thank...
Read moreWe worked with a local contractor on building a new home. The contractor recommended using Hailey’s over Lowe’s. When we purchased the appliances the salesman sold all the appliances under the contractor’s name, even though we purchased the items. So, it has been an ordeal to find the ticket for the sale. We tried calling several times and never could get someone on the phone. Got reply from sending a FB message.
At the time of purchase, there was a rebate going on. It was an act of congress to get the receipt and rebate information sent to us. The construction took a little longer than the purchase date of all the appliances, on 12/2/24 but the appliances were just delivered on Tuesday, February 5, 2025 to our new home. We closed on Friday, February 7. I called Hailey’s this morning for 2 reasons, one the countertop cooktop and two, the refrigerator. The refrigerator makes a noise like an airplane is taking off when the compressor kicks in. I asked could we get a new fridge because of the noise and the fridge is small compared to our fridge in our home we just sold. The repairman on the phone, said new fridges are a little louder when the compressor kicks in. Also, we are considered the owner since 12/2 of the fridge. When I explained the appliances were just delivered 5 days ago and we didn’t take ownership of the house until 3 days ago. He said by their paperwork we had ownership on 12/2 but Hailey’s couldn’t pull the ticket up in their system because the salesman used the contractor’s name.
This is just our experience and it has been horrible from...
Read moreI have purchased appliances thru both Hailey’s and the Big Box stores in the Lynchburg area. Having existing lines of credit with the large chains, it was an easy and comfortable choice to purchase 3 new kitchen appliances and not have such a hit on my finances. However, like with most appliances, I have experienced unexpected malfunctions, factory defects, and incidental damages to all three of those appliances within the first 6 months. This is not to say that the Big Box Stores sell any different grade of appliances than does Hailey’s, but that Hailey’s stands behind what they sell. When trying to receive help with my new (broken) appliances through the big box store, i was told that I needed to contact the manufacturer to schedule a service. At one point, an appliance tech sent by GE pulled into my driveway and informed me that for him to even look at my microwave, would cost me a minimum of $300 before parts on a $350 microwave . I asked him to leave and immediately bought a new microwave thru Hailey’s. I have since purchased a refrigerator, washer, and dryer from Hailey’s appliance. As luck would have it, within the first several weeks my dryer was making strange squeaks. I called Hailey’s and explained my concern, and within a few days they came to my home with part in hand, fixed the issue, and thanked me for my patronage, free of charge! This company truly stands behind their product and services what they sell without any hesitation or runaround. All of my future appliances will be thru Hailey’s and I couldn’t be...
