King i8 360 Smart Bed purchased 2 years ago. We've had multiple problems with the same issue.

We contacted sleep number about this issue of spots showing up on the mattress. They said it was our issue as it looked like stains and we probably had food in our bed. We always have a waterproof mattress protector on it. Nope. This was a 6k+ purchase, I'm taking care of it.. I fought them on this and it was under the one year warranty so they sent a replacement cover for the bed.
We'll this picture is the SAME issue in the same spot of the bed for the new cover. No clue what's happening and customer service is absolutely helpless and claim it's my issue. Not the bed.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from Sleep Number.
Update: I posted this review and received the reply call this number and ask to speak to a higher up. I did. They said send us the picture. I did. They said oh it’s staining and your fault. We don’t cover this.

I had ordered a king size bed to replace a queen which the previous owners of our Wintergreen house took with them. With renters coming on Friday, we arranged for a Wednesday delivery. The delivery team shows up in a beat up truck, and not surprisingly, they can't open the lift gate. Rather than going to get it repaired overnight, they complain about how they are underpaid and drive back to South Carolina. I am left to find a king size mattress (which is surprisingly difficult to find in stock) and my husband and I have to haul it home and up 2 flights of stairs by ourselves. Meanwhile, the best Sleep Number can offer is to deliver our mattress in 10 days. What kind of service is this? How do they get away with this? This would have been our 3rd S# mattress. Now, I can assure you that we WILL NEVER buy another. The people in Lynchburg might be nice but their delivery system and the corporate "customer service" people...
Read moreWe randomly stopped in on our mattress search today, and met Angela. She was immediately no-pressure, and allowed us to try out a bed and some pillows. She answered all of our questions and ultimately led us to a bed that my wife and I both agreed was comfortable. (Check out the pillows, too!) After some deliberation, we decided to get one, and Angela quickly took care of getting us financed. Through the whole process, we were in the store about an hour and half. We checked out almost all of the models. Most of it was business at hand, but there was plenty of casual talk. I always felt like we were talking to a friendly person and not a saleswoman.
