Vinny’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Lynchburg

Horrible service. We read the google reviews before we went. There were two or three one-star reviews saying the service was bad and the customer had been ignored. Scroll down and read them. When we walked in, the manager and a waitress were leaning against the counter. It was a slow night. We chatted briefly with them, then sat down. Nothing happened for about 5 minutes. We got up and walked back to the counter to see what was going on in the kitchen. There were three waitresses just standing around talking with each other. I asked the manager why we hadn’t been waited on, why were they standing around, and why wasn’t he watching and why hadn’t he said anything to them? Shrugs all around and “Oh, we apologize.” We ask him if he’s aware of the other google reviews for bad service and he says he’s aware of them. We sit back down. Still nothing. One of the waitress comes out of the kitchen, but goes to another table. We are still sitting there without service. Vinny’s used to be of great quality, however in the past year that has gone down hill for online ordering. I have ordered online twice now and something was missing from my order that I paid for! Tonight it was my Caesar salad that was missing from the bag and my husband had to wait on it when he discovered it missing. Then he gets home and I realize they left the egg off of the salad. The time before it was the chicken in my daughter’s chicken Alfredo. When I order online I always leave a 20% tip. I’m now starting to realize that they do nothing to earn that tip and carelessly leave items out of my order. No more online ordering for me from Vinny’s. If you do decide to order online. I would rate 0 zeroes but I have to leave at least one. Service was horrid. Seating was fast, and we instantly ordered, got our appetizer 30 minutes. And another 10 for our entrees. Our server just vanished, not a single refill, and I had to walk up tot the front for my check and boxes so we could leave after waiting 20 minutes for her to come back. Appetizer tasted alright, but the main course was terrible. I got the Reuben had good beef, but the sauerkraut and thousand island dressing had NO flavor and ruined the entire experience. Bread was toasted in a toaster and was hard to eat. My girlfriend had the fettuccini Alfredo, it was bland and just tasted like cream of mushroom soup poured onto pasta.
