I have stayed at this particular location twice. During my first stay in a king plus sofabed room, I experienced good service provided by the front desk personnel and kitchen staff. The room was clean and by clean I mean no stains rips or tears noted on the bed, its linens, or furniture. The pillows are a down feather which I prefer. The bathroom area was clean as well with sufficient towels, hand towels and cloths. The condition of the heater/air conditioner was good having all functions and without any visible damage. The carpeting in the room was stained in several areas. I found a washcloth in the bathroom below par with fringed and battered ends. Being a little over 5 feet in height I found the showerhead out of reach for any adjustment. There is one tissue box located in the bathroom. Soap holders on the bathroom sink allow for a messy counter. Fitted sheet for the king-sized bed slipped off in the night and was lacking decent elastic corners. It was a rather difficult opening and closing the shade by a pulley system. It seemed to need greasing. The rack holding bath towels was inside the shower allowing for a comfortable transition. And, the selections of continental breakfast foods for $7 are good as well although I would prefer free breakfast.
My second stay was during College For a Weekend in which I was not a participant. Having been late for breakfast, staff from the kitchen was kind to provide food. This room, different from the last, also had stains on the carpet. Everything else was okay.
I have driven across this country a few times and have stayed in many a hotel, some better some worse than this one. I also have owned a house cleaning business in my former state of residence and in my current state of residence, regularly provide house cleaning services. What I like to see when I stay in a hotel and what I provide for others is not what I found here. Admittedly I do have high expectations when it comes to guest services. I prefer my pillowcases tucked in on the ends and facing towards each other on the bed for neatness. The pillow protector zippers should be at the bottom of the cover, not visible on the open ends to scratch your arms or face in the night. Carpets should be stain-free and I like a tissue box to be accessible in each room. Washcloths need to be neat with no worn edges and towels free of pills, soft, and no pulls. These are my...
Read moreThis hotel earns "the worst hotel I've stayed at" award. I booked a 1BR suites room & upon checking in, I was assigned a room 212 which is a handicap accessible room. I went up to second floor and saw a door with a double peep holes which indicates the room is handicap accessible. I returned the front desk & refused to take that room then front desk ( Michele) gave me a regular king size bed room. I complained that I booked for a suites. Then another front desk person gave me a key to other room which is again a regular King size bed room. I raised my voice at the front desk & demanded the 1 BR suites I originally booked for. Then a male front desk (claimed that he's the manager )took me to room 212 the handicap room again & told me that as Hilton standards, all the suite rooms have a handicap accessible which I strongly doubt. I went up to 3rd & 4th floor and checked room 312 & 412 to see if their doors have a double peep holes like the room 212, but they are the regular doors with only a single peep holes. I stormed to front desk and told them what I found out. He told me " all the suites rooms have same handicap features" I told him that's a BS. Michelle told me " look. My friend had a heart attack last week and her half body is paralyzed & she has no money to take care of her family. Your situation ( of being assigned a handicap room ) is neighing compare to that. We'll treat you a glass of wine. Relax and stop causing a scene in front of other guests. I changed the room 4 times already and finally an old female came out and introduces herself that she's the general manager & the room is still cleaning (at 5pm) but I'll be getting a room 512 as soon as it's ready. I finally got a room around 6pm and the 1br suite is a NON- handicap room which is supported to be given upon checking in. I'm a Hilton HHonor Diamond member & the fact that they insulted my intelligence compelled to write the bad and the real review about the Hilton Garden inn Lynchburg Va. I'll never return this hotel ever again! The...
Read moreSo, first of all, we reserved this hotel room through Hilton via phone a couple of weeks before our visit. We got a confirmation stating our total was $550. We arrive to check in and we’re told it’s going to be over $600. When we stated the price was different than our reservation the receptionist asked if it was reserved through 3rd party (it was not, we reserved through Hilton on the phone). She stated it was for “fees” but could not explain why, and at this point we had been traveling all day, so we reluctantly paid. She told us that she’d throw in some “free” breakfast coupons. So we check out the pool on the way to our room, and it is tiny and super cloudy, totally disgusting, with a sign stating “spa closed”. We stayed for 3 nights and did not see housekeeping a single time. The wallpaper in the bathroom of our room was beginning to peel off of the walls and there was some strange unidentifiable stain on the carpet. We arrived for the breakfast each morning around 8 am and everything was either picked through already or you had to pay more money to get a plate. Oh and then the morning manager told us that the continental breakfast was free anyways so the “free” breakfast coupons they give you are a joke. Even coffee was practically nonexistent despite having 5 canisters at the bar. My boyfriend drank decaf because there was nothing else and another woman had asked for coffee and it never came. To top it off we asked for a couple of towels on our last night and we were told that the kids staying for the tournament had used up all the towels throughout the day. We asked if they could bring us some once they had some clean ones, never got a call. Instead we were awoken to a fire alarm at 845 am with no explanation. Don’t waste your money. I’ve literally stayed at red roof inns nicer than...
