Worst appliance purchase ever. Bought a NIB Maytag fridge on eBay from Noble Appliance Center. Drove 50 miles one way to pick it up rather than pay the $299 shipping (which is shipped to a local warehouse, rather than your home). When we arrived at the appointed time and date in Madison Heights, MI, after giving them the 48 hour notice required, we were told our appliance was on a delivery truck but there were several deliveries ahead of us. After waiting for quite some time, we were then told it was actually at a warehouse ½ hour away and we could either go get it or wait up to 3 more hours for delivery. The manager/owner, offered us $25 in cash, then offered another $50 as compensation for gas/inconvenience. Nice, right? The Scam: he said the only way he could do that was to cancel our eBay order and re-bill us minus the $50. He said it would benefit us because we would get an additional $50 off the original price plus the $25 in cash, and he wouldn't have to pay eBay a percentage for the sale (missed that huge red flag). Once we picked the fridge up and got it home, 4 men carefully unloaded it. We unwrapped the protective plastic and Styrofoam (not in box as advertised), and discovered a not-so-new appliance. Nearly the entire left side of the back and vent was damaged and there was no way to tell if it would affect how it worked. I called Noble's to see what could be done to fix the problem. The manager/owner responded, "You paid less than anyplace else is selling that fridge for, and the damage won't be seen anyway." I was shocked! I paid for a new fridge which I expected to be in new condition no matter the price, and this was his response? When I persisted, and told him I wanted the new refrigerator we paid for, he suggested we load the damaged fridge up and drive the 100 mile round trip to pick up another. I responded that it would only be fair that they bring a new fridge to our home, and take back the damaged one. He said absolutely not, and hung up on me. To add insult to injury, we now have no recourse with eBay's guarantee because he canceled the sale. He even chuckled when I threatened to report him to eBay, telling me there was nothing they would do and I couldn't leave a review since the sale had been canceled. Later I received notification from eBay that the same appliance had been re-listed. Sure enough, the fridge we supposedly bought was for sale again by Noble's. The description, photos, item number, everything was exactly the same. He told me that no one would believe my negative reviews because he had so many positive ones on eBay, however, if he's made a habit of canceling eBay orders on damaged appliances and rewrites the order as “compensation” in-store, others would also lose their ability to report him or give a negative review. What a scam! Run, don't walk from this so-called business. I don't know how he sleeps at night knowing he's scamming trusting, honest people. Plain and simple---this person is unethical, so heed my warning and the warnings of other victims who have had similar experiences. Please note this listing quote: “This seller does not offer returns (wonder why). You are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee if you received an item that is not as described in the listing.” That only works if he doesn't cancel your eBay order. Also, in the description: *We do our best to accurately describe the conditions of all of our products. Sometimes minor imperfections can be missed during the inspection process. Different lighting conditions may accentuate certain damages and can make others very difficult to notice. Take a look at my photos and decide whether those imperfections would be difficult to notice. Just received an email from eBay stating that the seller claims we asked for the cancellation of our eBay order which is totally untrue. Not only is he a scumbag, he's a big fat liar! As others have written, this person appears friendly and trustworthy until the sale is final. DO NOT FALL FOR IT--HE...
Read moreYou will get a discounted appliance, but expect it to have issues and slow customer service response to your issues. We have bought 4 appliances from this store and every one has had it's own unique issue. The fridge we bought was delivered and did not cool. The store eventually made it right, but we were without a fridge for 4 weeks. The microwave (special order) was not put on the delivery truck and I had to drive down to the store to pick up after our salesperson said "I'm not sure why it wasn't sent out, but its here for you to pickup". A 36" range was purchased and the oven didnt work and required 2 different service techs (1 which we had to coordinate) come out to get working. We also are still waiting for replacement trim piece for the stove that was ordered 8+ weeks ago - no one has any idea where it is. The dishwasher was shipped without leveling legs and has not been able to be used still 4 weeks post delivery. We have a new born baby at home that we have been forced to handwash everything for the past month - really defeats the purpose of buying a new dishwasher. I have indicated I want to return the dishwasher but was told "leveling feet are the easiest thing in the world" to replace.....yet I'm a month in an dont have them therefore don't have a working dishwasher. I'm a builder and was trying out this store for our clients with the intention of recommending and utilizing on our projects - this will not happen. As a customer I should not have to continually follow up on lacking goods or services, yet that's all I have had to do on this purchase. This has been an absolute nightmare for my wife and I. Buyer beware and expect to be in for a headache if you chose to purchase anything.
UPDATE: Mitch stepped in and addressed the lingering issues. Although still a disappointing and frustrating process, the end result is we have working appliances. I understand Noble is a growing business, which will of course result in growing pains. Hopefully the experience I shared above will help them help their staff to be more accountable and not result in a situation with such a comedy of errors...
Read moreThe customer service was very good. We purchased a stove, refrigerator, range, dishwasher, washer and dryer on December 13th. We have yet to have our appliances delivered yet. We had our kitchen redone and I'm sure it'll be beautiful when our appliances finally arrive. Today is Monday, December 30th so I'll call them again for an update and ,hopefully, they'll do more than send an email...
I'll update the rating to reflect how this turns out...
I called on the 30th and requested a status on my appliances. I was told that an email and phone call would me made to whomever does the purchasing and I would receive a call/email back with an update. Today is January 2nd at 3 o'clock- still waiting for a status..
I called 1/3/2020 and was told that I'd made a special order for a refrigerator (I was not made aware of this at the time of purchase). I asked to speak with a manager and was transferred to an answering machine. I'm still waiting for a reply. I'm definitely wishing that I'd gone to Sears right now...today is 1/4/2020 at 6:20 PM.
Monday January 6th at 4:30PM -- still haven't been contacted by anyone....
1/8/2020 5:29 PM I really wish I had My appliances right now.
My husband was told that the appliances would be in on Wednesday. It's Friday at 4:29 PM, No Appliances.
1/12/2020 I guess I was mistaken, the appliances will be here this coming Wednesday.
1/20/2020 No appliances Was told to call and schedule delivery. It'll take 7 days. No one from delivery answered and they were missing my dryer.
1/22/2020 The appliances were delivered today.
1/26/2020 I absolutely Love the refrigerator and even though the dishwasher had a dent at the very bottom, you can't see it now that it's installed-it works great! The stove was delivered with a small scratch on top under the blue protective tape, but it works well also. The range/microwave was delivered in a box but the hardware to install it was removed for some reason. Still waiting on that.... The washer and dryer haven't been hooked up yet but I'm sure they'll work fine.
April 3, 2020 The appliances are all working well. Changing the review from...
