Dewey's Comic City — Attraction in Madison

The best comic book store in all of New Jersey. The manager John is one of the most nicest people you will ever meet and most helpful. Every time I leave the store I'm always satisfied because the man is like a Super Computer. He knows almost every thing about every comic their and gives you a great summary of every comic you ask him about. He also has a great sense of humor constantly putting up with my sarcasm which most people would pretty much want to strangle me nope not John. He just sits there and lets nothing get to him. On top of that they do get in pretty good back issues so if you are looking for a great comic book store I would highly recommend this place. He has lots of patience but for future references do not call him Zappy. He'll turn into a 15 foot tall hulk like creature and you won't want to get him mad. Ok I'm over reacting and this never really happened but all joking aside. Definitely check out this comic book store if you are in the area. John will make sure you are well taken care of. I recently started getting back into comics and I'm glad I have a local store in our area. What makes it more special is that it's housed within The Kubert School, adjacent to the art store. While not the largest store, it has pretty much everything you'd normally want from DC and Marvel. You'll also find other independent publishers such as Image, Boom!, Aftershock, Dark Horse, IDW, and a handful of other lesser known publishers. They have a nice wall of back issues that span from Silver Age to current. You can negotiate prices and from my experiences have been fair with their offers. The long time employee of Dewey's named John is a cool guy and is quite knowledgeable with old and new comics. They have a fair amount of collectibles on display and trading cards such as Pokemon, Magic the Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! Been almost a year and this is still my favorite store to visit. I've been to most comic book stores in New Jersey and I'm confident when I say that Deweys is the best comic book store in New Jersey. They have an phenomenal collection of graphic novels, everything from marvel, DC and Image to small lesser known indies. They're staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I would strongly suggest joining their email list as each week there is a list of new products coming in along with great suggestions. Some of the best graphic novels I've read were small indie publications I wouldn't have known about expect for the email listserv.
