SolEscape Healing Arts — Attraction in Madison

Surprised I could not post a review of SE on their Yelp page today.

I have been going to SE since their inception and have been very happy with every massage I've gotten there but one. One of their providers - EP - has the longest description/bio on the providers page of his experiences, many only somewhat related (?) to massage. Sorry to say, my recent massage with him was one of the 3 worst of my life. (I am a bodyworker with 26 years as a provider with a successful studio and have had dozens of massages).

His massage was unfocused, very mechanical and he didn't respond to my feedback/suggestions during the massage.

Before the massage he gave me his card which I felt was unprofessional touting his experience (& other businesses) as a spiritual counselor, author, etc.

His bio on the SE site also states his focus on spirit-mind-body connection. I wish there had been some evidence of this in the massage.

Sorry to say I had no feeling of "healing" in the massage. Although my muscle tension was improved I was * extremely disappointed * in his work. As an independent provider if for some reason I can't "deliver" I decline work. Apparently he doesn't have...

I've had several massage sessions with Laura, and she is fantastic! She always greets me with enthusiasm and warmth, and she really listens when I describe how my body is feeling.

I decided to try hot stones and cupping with her today, and I'm hooked! I wasn't sure what to expect, but she explained the process beforehand and checked in several times during the treatment. It felt similar to a deep tissue massage in my sore spots and a gentle touch in more relaxed areas, so it was a pleasant sensation. She massaged the cupping marks afterward so I wasn't left with red spots (like I've seen in photos about the procedure!). I feel amazing hours later, so I strongly recommend cupping to anyone who is curious; Laura will make it a comfortable experience.

To wrap up, I appreciate how she always goes above and beyond with extra oils and creams if she thinks they'll help my problem areas. She ends each session explaining what she used and why; I always leave feeling nurtured, with a deeper understanding of my body.

OKAY, before I review Hannah's fabulous business and skills I just have to say I hunted her down for TWO YEARS that is how sensational she is! After the hunt was over I happily got an hour and a half lomi lomi deep tissue massage to relieve a terrible sharp shoulder issue, greatly decrease anxiety tension all throughout my terribly knot riddled back, and to have one of the most peaceful, relaxing moments of my life. Hannah is god sent, and her staff is equally as gifted. Another major qulaity of Hannah's Sol Escape is that her employees all flourish with different abilities and skills to further meet the various needs of their clients. My boyfriend got a 10 minute deep tissue foot something or another form another woman; they had a massage booth at a town festival and were simply taking donations in exchange for glorious massages of all types.
