I usually enjoy stopping here in the morning on my way to work, generally 5 stars. Mostly everyone is really nice. Today during the hustle of the morning the lovely lady who helped me forgot the chocolate in my mocha. It wasnât a big deal and I stopped in after work to see if I could get a remake. I donât know after this experience if I ever want to stop here again thank you to the older balding gentleman who was incredibly rude to me. I was nice and greeted him, said hello and explain the situation. He made my drink for me and then proceeded to say âIâve heard about you people, know that this will be the last time.â I have never had a problem to stop in again so I was confused by what he meant and I said that. He said nothing and walked away to the back room. I was very confused and so I reiterated, said I apologize for the confusion I donât know what you mean I hope you had a good day. His response was, âYep sure you donât, thank you and have great day.â Worst customer service I have received in a very long time. He was so rude and his demeanor was very aggressive towards me, as a customer. Not only that but as regular for the last year and a full punch card my experience with this person has now really damaged my view of...
Read moreCoffee is coffee, , right? Hmmm, maybe not true. I travel regularly between Colorado and WI and have yet to find coffee as expertly and finely 'crafted' as EVP's. It is so remarkable in quality in my opinion, that I have it shipped 1,000 miles rather than settle for the over roasted (burnt flavor), bland and characterless coffees I have thus found during my travels. Bear in mind that flavor is in the taste buds of the beholder, but after over 8 years I have found none better. It is much like comparing beer in some respects, One can drink the grocery store brands or one can go with a micro brewed craft ale and thus it is, in essence, like comparing colored water to a rich and flavor crafted ale. So too the analogy applies to the uniquely flavored EVP coffees. My go-to varieties are the Sumatran, Bali Blue Moon and Expresso Blend, and find blending among varieties yields additional flavor experiences. My advice to EVP's roasting technique is the old saying "it ain't broke, don't fix it". A truly quality...
Read moreEVP has a great vibe, the service is always very quick, and it's overall everything you'd want and need out of a small coffee joint. The bathrooms are clean and you don't have to ask the employees for a key. There's a surprisingly large selection of pastries, which some go quickly, but there will usually always be something for you to satisfy you craving. The prices are also pretty cheap, relative to other coffee places. I've also always had an easy time ordering from whoever's working at the time, they've always been friendly and willing to chat, though I've never actually tried to strike up conversation, just seen it. Now the only downside to this place is that during peak hours, it may be a bit hard to find a seat, especially with an outlet, but they have outdoor seating which is a plus. For Madison coffee shops, this place is one of my favorites. Just remember that if you pay with card to verbally add a tip before they...
