I can attest to the owner here being rude.
I had placed two small things that I was planning to purchase on the side of the counter (which an owner or associate in any other store gladly accepts without hesitation and moves them if need be), and the dude snapped at me, stating that I should take a basket to utilize for my items, so that he could therefore, ring up customers. (Having been a first-time shopper in the store, I wasn't even aware of the baskets, which he could have politely pointed out. Furthermore; was I not a customer, as well?) Mind you; it was said in a harsh voice and in front of other people, as if to shame me.
I haven't been back since.
Competition is abundant, especially within a tourist town, and one should be appreciative of those who patronize their establishment by showing some basic respect and kindness. If you anticipate receiving that here, you may end up disappointed.
To the other reviewer who suggested that those of whom are treated in a less-than-desirable way should turn the other cheek...um, no. When I am patronizing someone's shop and planning to spend my money there, I deserve to be treated with respect. It's a small gesture to provide to a customer...but then again, I have spent 35 years within a customer-centric business environment, building positive customer relations, so what do I know 😉
8/15/25 EDITED: And here's the owner, stating his nasty rebuttal and proving my point.🤣
But don't take my word for it, just read the other lackluster reviews. Anyone else would want to improve his business relationships, but this guy just digs his heels in...
Read moreAfter reading previous reviews, it’s evident that encounters with a particular male staff member have been less than favorable. However, our recent visit was delightful, thanks to the friendly and helpful service from the tall blonde woman behind the counter. She noticed us accumulating items and kindly offered a basket. Upon learning we were from out of town, she provided excellent recommendations. My girlfriend was impressed by the restroom soap, and the employee suggested a complementary lotion, enhancing our shopping experience.
During checkout, we faced issues with the payment system not accepting our card. The employee called, presumably, the owner for assistance. Unfortunately, we overheard him speaking harshly to her, saying, “Don’t be rude to me.” She handled the situation professionally by ending the call and processing our payment in cash.
Based on our experience and other reviews, it might be beneficial for the business to have such courteous staff members in customer-facing roles, while others could focus on behind-the-scenes tasks. This approach could lead to improved customer satisfaction and more positive reviews.
Ultimately, we visited for the products, and the cheese we purchased was delicious. Even if the service had been less than perfect, the quality of the offerings would have made up for it. Let’s not be overly critical; the excellent products...
Read moreVERY rude employees. Our children were looking at the toys and playing with the ones out of the package. An employee came over and TOOK a toy car out of our three year Olds hand and said " no playing with the toys you either buy it or get out! Where are the parents??" while looking at us. Our children were being children not ruining anything just looking at some of the toys that were out! We took our kids and left. We will not buy from a place that is so rude and treats children so badly! We were planning on buying from them but put our items down and left!
EDIT: We most certainly were watching, and our children were not causing issues at all! Maybe you were having a bad day and I'm sorry for that but to be outright rude and disrespectful to a YOUNG CHILD is not acceptable. This is anything but a family...
