Read moreWhat an incredible experience we had staying at The Barnstead Inn! My husband and I decided to book a last minute get away for our first wedding anniversary and chose Manchester. The best decision we made was staying here. Pete and Andrea went above and beyond to make our weekend special, from upgrading our room to sneaking a bottle of champagne in while we were at dinner and recommending us to the absolute best restaurants around! We ate like royalty! (Be sure to visit The Silver Fork, Ye Old Tavern, and Mistral's for fine dining. Union Underground and The Crooked Ram were great for lunch and drinks!)
Lucky is the sweetest dog ever and was a joy to be around. The Barnstead Inn is dog friendly which was a life saver when we had no one to watch our pup. Pete and Andrea's two children were a pleasure to spend time with too. It was like they invited us into their family! We enjoyed s'mores by the fire and shared our wedding cake topper with them on our anniversary day.
Our suite was private, clean and soooooo quaint. The Dorset Daughters toiletry products were a great touch. Loved them so much that I purchased some at check out time from their convenient stand of local products, along with some maple syrup of course!
Breakfasts were a great start to each of our days, complete with delicious coffee and treats. My husband's favorite was the slow cooked corned beef hash. It was to die for!
The walk into town was short and lovely. So conveniently located in fact that we barely had to drive anywhere. We did take a ride into Dorset for their farmer's market on Sunday which I highly recommend. It was dog friendly and we picked up some amazing produce and locally made goods. Another Andrea recommendation of course!
We can't wait to come back and visit, especially because there will be a newly renovated pool and pond that we would get to enjoy next time. Greg and I want to thank Andrea, Pete and the rest of the fam for all of their hard work. The Barnstead Inn is so chic but homey and we fell in love at...
Read moreMy sister and my 2 daughters just returned from a weekend away at the Barnstead Inn. It was absolutely perfect in every way. We were greeted by the wonderful “furry innkeepers, King and Lucky! They couldn’t have been sweeter. Our rooms were in the Cowbarn which is so beautifully decorated with that modern but rustic farmhouse feel. Everything you could need or want is right there. They were very clean and beautiful. There were fire pits right outside our door on the patio and although we weren’t able to sit and enjoy them, they make it feel so warm and inviting. Everyone couldn’t have been nicer to us. They truly make you feel welcomed and are very easy to talk to. The breakfast each morning was delicious and Sarah was great in the evening to make wonderful drinks and appetizers as we sat around and got to know the kids, Peyton and Pierce. So friendly and sweet. The Inn and all of the grounds were so beautifully decorated with Christmas lights and decor which made it feel so beautiful this time of year. This trip was a getaway planned for my sister who has been dealing with health issues the past couple of years. We wanted to give her an experience that she would love and remember for a long time and The Barnstead Inn provided that and more! Thank you so much to Andrea and Pete. You truly have an amazing property that you take pride in and provide such a wonderful experience to your guests. Thank you Sarah for your hospitality at the tavern and the great cocktails you make! You were so sweet even when we showed up at closing time and asked you to make us one last cocktail. Thank you Pierce and Payton for sitting and chatting with us when we arrived. You were very cute and we loved talking to you. To King and Lucky who sat with us and made us smile for 2 days and allowed us to give them hugs whenever we felt like it. We won’t forget our 1st time at the Barnstead Inn. I am already looking forward to our next trip back. Manchester VT is a beautiful town with lots to see and do. We can’t wait...
