It's so great to finally have a Spanish grocery store in Manchester that carries fresh Spanish bakery bread and pastries daily (since we sadly lost the Puerto Rican bakery that used to be on Main Street). The produce section is well stocked with fresh (not spoiled and wilted) fruits and veggies with a wide variety and carries everything I need to make Sofrito without having to drive all the way to EHtfd (finally!) The butcher and meat cases are well stocked and also very fresh and clean. No questionable looking packages, strange odors or gross meat juices in the fridge cases. If you ever shopped at the SavALot that was previously in the space, this store is so NOT that! It's the total opposite. There's even a staffed butcher case where you can ask for your meats to be cut however you like. Then there's the hot food takeout section which is also a win with a good range of delicious and reasonably priced hot meals and snacks. You get a good amount of food for your money too. Groceries are also at great prices here. They have weekly sales circulars you can plan your budgeting and shopping around with great sales on everything in the store. (This is hands down the best place around to buy 20lb bags of Goya rice). And they even carry Zote soap!!! (iykyk) Spanish hair and beauty products are in the front near the registers, which was a nice surprise because we definitely can't find them anywhere around here. The Skala hair conditioners/masks as well as the Maja products were a real surprise. I haven't seen Maja products for ages. (Didn't even realize they were still making them.) This store is a real gem. I just really hope it doesn't close as quickly as it opened. That would be very sad. This store is exactly what our community needs. It's super clean, well stocked and maintained and the staff is super helpful and always friendly (and bilingual, don't worry if you don't speak Spanish). The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the store's size. It should definitely be bigger. They should have left the space at the full size it was when the other grocery stores were there. The auto part store should have stayed down on the other side of the plaza where they were and left the space to Key Food. It makes no sense for them to take half of the store space away from the grocery store when they already had a location they've been operating at for years at the other side of the plaza. Besides that reason, everything else regarding Key Food Supermarket is five stars. So excited to have a Key Food here in Manchester finally and I will continue to shop here on a...

Read moreStopped by Key Food in Manchester, CT, for lunch. The food was good, and the staff was friendly, which I really appreciated. However, the store has a lot of surveillance—big monitors at the front displaying security footage and employees constantly watching customers. It made the shopping experience feel a bit uncomfortable, almost like being watched the entire time. I understand security is important, but it felt a little excessive. Other than that, it’s a solid...
