Manhattan Meats — Attraction in Manhattan Beach

Long due review, was at LAX on my way back to Singapore. Googled butchers near LAX, and Manhattan Meats came up. Stayed in the area during my previous trip, so took a $20 taxi fare to Manhattan Meats. It is a local deli and butchers shop with friendly service and great advice. Bought about 12 giant steaks to bring back on my flight. When I got home, I put the steaks in the fridge and cooked a couple on the bbq, not knowing what to expect. They were amazing, my wife says they were the best steaks she's had in a while! Had a couple more and froze the rest and had the last 2 steaks last night. Still amazing after a few months in the freezer (I know, better fresh, but still amazingly good!) and will definitely be back there the next time I'm in LA. We are staying in Manhattan Beach for a month and looked for a local butcher. Found Manhattan Meats and stopped by. It’s a combo meat market (you pay for your meat purchases at the meat counter) and a small market, so very convenient. I picked up their housemade sausage and we were very impressed, fresh and very well made and seasoned. Their steaks and 1/2 pound burgers looked amazing, as well as their fish selection. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!! My wife, kids and I were leaving for our noon road trip up north and we ordered a Club and Roast beef sandwich to go. We had not eaten that day, and ate the sandwiches on the road. We were fine until 11 pm in bed when I woke up a hurled violently what what’s in my stomach.
