Worst experience ever at the mankato goodwill today. Sign says 25% 1st responder discount, get to the register she says it only works on 3 of my items. There was no sign saying the items discounted were limited.A pair of used Halloween superman glasses rang up for $9.99! Used, ripped hulk costume $15! My mom found a toy for my kids for Christmas. Marked $19.99, she pulls back the tag and it was marked $8 at the store before goodwill got ahold of it. When we confronted staff she marked it down and said "they are supposed to remove the store tags before tagging them. It was 75% off at the store but it's new to us." Really?! If someone didnt pay $8 at the store how can you mark it up over 100% and expect people to pay it?! It was donated to you! People shop at goodwill because they cant afford chain store prices but this goodwill is marking up items they got donated to them. I will NEVER shop here again. This store is an absolute RIP off and scams people. I went there expecting to get a good deal on costumes for my kids because they were used and a few toys for cheap and they wanted store prices or MORE for...
Read moreThis place should not be called GOODWILL. They are the most greedy corporation i have ever been involved with. They do nothing, and i repeat NOTHING for the community. Please if you are thinking of donating your used goods, please consider your hometown thrift stores, not the giant corporation that cares only about the amount of money they bring in. They are considered non profit but if you spent one week involved with that company you would know that their so called "mission" is just something they use to manipulate you into bringing them all of your stuff. They fired employees with disabilities just because they couldn't process fast enough for them. Please donate to someone who can really use your items. Not the company with multiple warehouses full of hundreds of semi trailers packed full with donations from the past years. HELP THE PEOPLE WHO HELP OTHERS. Not...
Read moreUse to be a pleasant experience. Now items are getting over-priced and they beg for money every time you go to the checkout counter. "Would you like to round up your purchase to the next Dollar to donate...". I already donate. Every item in the store has been donated and still they want more...maybe corporate should figure out how to be better stewards of all the free crap they aleadry receive. Never going back. I've informed other area thrifts that I appreciate not being asked for more money. It's in very poor taste and only demonstrates that you can't manage what you've already been given to support their own programs. So yeah, Goodwill is a prime example of give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day, teach him to fish and you'll feed him for a lifetime. I'm done handing...
