Taqueria Doña Tere — Restaurant in Mankato

I am a fairly recent transplant from the West Coast and a huge fan of Mexican food, and I can say without Hyperbole that this is the best-value Mexican joint that I have ever tried. I have been a weekly customer here for quite some time, and they are always very generous by throwing in free tacos or even providing free desserts or drinks. All of the menu options are viable - my favorites are the shrimp soup, two taco combo, and the nachos. I would say to generally be proactive when ordering to ensure that you get enough toppings, such as enough cheese on the nachos or enough shrimp in the soup, but those were isolated incidents and 95% of the time I have no complaints. For sure some of the Mexican food in town, skip going to the terraza or mazatlán this is the place to go. So many dishes, every single one authentic and delicious. And this is coming from someone who is latin, not only is the owner is so kind but she has her own shop in the mall you can check out, and support the local business. Overall such a good restaurant I love coming here and if I had to recommend something for sure the tacos go with al pastor, carnitas, or carne asada. Or go with a CARNITAS PLATE their carnitas are some of the best I've ever had. Much love...

If you find yourself in Mankato and looking for some lunch, drive straight to Taqueria Doña Tere!!!! They gave me a humongous burrito, the pastor (pork) was delicioussss, and the spicy salsa was the right amount of heat for this gringa! The Guacamole was made fresh for me!!! Their ice cold, sweet hibiscus tea washed it all down! I’m completely stuffed right now I still have enough food left over for dinner tonight. Enorme Gracias to the staff for taking care of me...
