Spotlight Theatres Mankato 4 — Attraction in Mankato

I’m gonna start by saying the staff are great! Very polite and helpful. I have nothing bad to say about the staff.

However this place is falling apart hand that is purely on the owners. Went to see a film a couple weeks ago. The seating all desperately needs to be replaced. Some seats are missing cup holders and others no longer recline. This is pretty lame considering you pay for an assigned seat and it’s a gamble to get a working seat with a cup holder. Thankfully the staff were amenable to letting us switch seats once the movie had started. The fabric on the seats is deeply stained and gross and needs to be PROFESSIONALLY cleaned. Not pushed off on the day staff. The fans in the theatre were louder than the film and clicked the entire time we decided to stay. My last complaint is image quality. It’s grainy and you can see the pixels. Also very dark and was hard to make out what we were looking at. The projector ms need to be calibrated and focused. That or just updated. I will say the price is right, but after our last experience we walked out after 15 min of the film due to the noisy air system. Whoever owns this place needs to do a full overhaul and get it back up to snuff. It could be a good cinema if it were better maintained...

We had a disappointing visit to Spotlight. Actually, two disappointing visits in a row. We saw a movie a few weeks ago, and the theater was freezing. I had to wear my coat, hat, and gloves the entire time. When we approached the staff about it, they just apologized. Today, we were going to see a matinee, and it was again very cold. We told the staff about it, and they said they'd turn up the heat. The lights in the theater were so bright that we could barely see the screen at different points of the movie. After only twenty minutes, we decided to just leave. We've visited Spotlight one other time in the past, and while it wasn't the most up to date theater, it was still a fine place to see an inexpensive movie. However, it's just not worth the money to sit uncomfortablely for two hours. We may try again in the spring when it's warmed up, and if conditions are better, I'll edit...

Good theater at a reduced price. If you want the big screen experience without the cost, this place is for you. I mean, if you can't wait a few weeks to see a movie, this place won't help (they don't have movies when they first come out, they are 3-6 weeks old). But if you can wait, or don't go to movies often, this place is great. Our popcorn tasted a little stale, but not to the point it wasn't edible. Free refill on our large drink, so that's pretty good. Sound was very good, and their projector put out a very nice picture. There a few scratches on the screen that were noticeable, but only in very bright scenes. The seats were electrical recliners and were very comfortable. The theater was very clean. You should absolutely bring the family out to this place to see a movie...my...
