My nephew who is deaf went into the store and was told they were closed the doors were open and there was a customer inside as well. He was told he could not be checked out so I had assumed he had not heard things properly as he has cochlear implants and sometimes he can’t make out things clearly. Upon walking in the young man behind the counter had his voice raised at a high pitch telling me they are closed I asked if they could just check this out as it needed to be out and was ready to ship just needing to be scanned and as he was still scanning he continued to escalate his voice so I asked for the manger which he replied he was I walked to the side of the counter picking up a card then asking if he had one and with he replied he does not only the owner does which I took the card for the owner and said I would be calling In which he replied have fun with that I asked him what he said and he laughed and repeated his nonsense upon then I told him he was rude and not to talk to me like that I made a call that day leaving a Voice mail for Cara the owner and then called on Monday at opening hours asking for Cara the woman answering identified herself as the other owner which I said great and told her of the experience which I also asked her if she could watch the video and she replied I already did Me thinking great! She will be understanding to my concerns Not exactly what I had expected She tells me I’m putting her in a tough spot and the young man is very nice and been there a long time. I’m thinking I understand people have off days what ever but she then tells me she’s got conflicting stories In which I reply I’m a not a liar I’m trying to explain what happened as a business owner I would want to know who is representing my company Mind you not once did she apologize or thank me for my concerns All the while I’m thinking did you not watch the video and hear the words and tones!? I get it people have off days we may have been in there a couple of minutes past closing but in reality this didn’t have to be the way it was and to be made to feel like I inconvenienced the half owner with the way some one is representing them also put...
Read moreAs a local, I used to really enjoy the convenience of using this store for my UPS returns and other services. Not anymore. Even with a sunny disposition of 'Hello' greetings, one of the new young female hires has been continuously rude to me and my husband to the point of total disregard when we ask questions. No response or acknowledgment whatsoever. I only encounter eye rolls and a nasty judgy attitude from this particular employee. Kind customer service be blasted. Gone is the old top notch welcoming service management so vehemently advertises. When will some service industry businesses realize that we (the customer) are their bread and butter, and without a happy and loyal clientele their doors will eventually close? I guess Storrs' highly vibrant transient community is enough for this local business, for now. I will only support your business as long as you don't forget your and my humanity, because it is never a one-way street...
Read moreI had a great experience at the Storrs Mansfield UPS store!!! First off, I called before shipping and spoke to Karlee, who was super knowledgeable and helpful. My kids are both attending Canadian Universities and I was getting ready to ship them each their first care package. She gave me some tips that greatly helped the process. When I arrived at the store I was greeted by both Joel and Karlee. They were polite and took their time to get everything right as we had to complete custom declarations for each item being shipped. I could not have been happier with their professionalism and overall kindness. The two packages are en route to Canada and it didn’t break the bank like I thought it might. I will be using this store for all future Canadian care packages and any other shipping needs I have! Karlee and Joel are terrific employees!! Thank you for an easy and pleasant...
