Maybe my expectations were too high. I had an ex boyfriend from probably 15 years ago who ordered DP Dough for himself when we were at a college party and was cheap and didn’t get me anything. And I was also a broke college student and didn’t have money for it back then. So out of spite to my ex boyfriend, I have wanted to try DP Dough for a very long time. I had a job last week very close to Storrs that made me say hmm, I think I have to try it now.
Ordered over the app. I chose 2 different options for takeout for my dad and I that were vegetarian options that both had ricotta in them. The app worked great. Got there to pick up, only 2 young women employees in the store. Not super friendly atmosphere nor very inviting. It’s ok, I’m not there for customer service. Got home almost an hour away, neither one had ricotta. I chose these 2 because they had ricotta and the veggie selection I wanted. They were overfilled with mozzarella but that was absolutely not what I wanted. Slim pickings for the veggies in them too. Very small serving for a calzone.
Overall, this would do the trick for a drunk meal which I’m sure college students love them for but if you want accurate or a large portion with friendly service, that doesn’t exist here. I definitely felt happy I hadn’t missed anything knowing this was what my ex ate that night when I sat there jealous...
Read moreAs a doordash employee, I dread coming here. There isn’t a time where I don’t have to wait for my customers food. Like bro “dash” is in my job description. If it’s slow for me being alone in the restaurant at 10pm with 3 people working then, don’t expect fast service as a student. It’s like “fast” food for college kids who have money. I ordered cheesy bread once and it had like no cheese and for 8$? I should just make it myself for half the price. My final point is the current staff that work there. I was in the store when it was busy one afternoon and had no place to stand. The owner came up to the counter and rudely told me to move away from the counter which is at my eye level. He had a goatee, probably peaked in high school and seems to be stuck in 2005. The other female employees are rude and snotty. I have nothing against lgbtq community and fully support it, but I kid you not this women with green hair hit on my girlfriend right in-front of me and the was rude to me every-time I went in there. Like bro we just 2 kids tryna work and make money and it’s the stuff like this that sucks. It just makes me...
Read moreMy girlfriend ordered a vegetarian buffer zone from here. We checked to make sure it was the right order, and realized it was marked as just a buffer zone on the box and there was breaded chicken inside when their previous fake (vegetarian) chicken was not breaded. We took it back inside and the worker told us that they were using new fake chicken and assured us that it was vegetarian as she made it herself and didn’t want to get her sick. When we started eating, she realized that there was bacon inside the calzone too! Who puts bacon on a vegetarian calzone? There isn’t even supposed to be bacon on a regular buffer zone, it just makes no sense. She hasn’t eaten meat in over 6 years so this effected her emotionally and will probably make her sick. We called to tell them and they wouldn’t even offer us a refund, only that we can come back down and trade it in for the real calzone, but we couldn’t trust them at this point. We loved DP Dough previously, but this has ruined their reputation, especially for falsely...
