Worst vacation rental company in Florida, avoid at all costs. These people clearly have no clue how rentals, or even houses, work. We rented "Sunsets in Paradise," and arrived to find it not at all as described. The master was supposed to have an en suite bath and the laundry was supposed to adjoin it. There is no en suite bath and we found the laundry in a bedroom! When brought to their attention, they shrugged it off and changed the listing description to be vague but misleading. My daughter's bed buckled like a taco when she lied on it because they had replaced the platform bedframe with one that required box springs, but provided no box springs. Who doesn't know how beds work? She had to sleep like that for a night before they fixed it the next day, couldn't be bothered to promptly address a problem that should never have existed. The window treatments in the bedroom facing unbelievably bright street lights were mini-blinds and a garden tarp. That's right, a tarp. Hope you like sleeping with the lights on. The glass shower door was missing, so water got all over the unevenly tiled floor with every shower. The kitchen light wasn't wired properly so it randomly flicked on and off, whether you'd have light while cooking was a roll of the dice. Luckily it didn't start a fire when we were there. One of the kitchen cabinet doors was just missing. Every call I made was met with the asinine response of, "no one else has complained," and refusal to do anything. We asked to be moved to another unit, they claimed none were available, but I found others on Airbnb. Despite an outrageous $250 cleaning fee, for a 2BR, they left a load of wet towels for me to find in the dryer and their list of check out tasks includes stripping beds and doing laundry. Absolutely absurd. The deposit was $4,000 for a house that cost less than $2000 to rent. I paid it because I don't buy scam insurance, but their contract says nothing about when they return it, so I had to call, email and text multiple times to get it refunded. The house was definitely poorly renovated and appointed, with stained towels, cheap sheets, useless cookware, and terrible plumbing, tile and HVAC work, but the rental company was the absolute worst. If you're looking to rent in the Keys, we had an infinitely better experience with American Coastal Vacation Rentals.
ETA: yes, after dealing with incompetent belligerence for 3 weeks, I was in a pretty bad mood. Anyone would be. I didn't move to the Airbnb because you had already claimed it didn't exist and I knew you'd just say it was on there by mistake (as you make so so many mistakes). And I didn't move anywhere else because you made it clear that you'd fight against a refund, so I didn't want to end up holding the bag for TWO houses for the week. We did leave the moment we could, forfeiting our last night there. "Normally returned on the first of the month" just highlights your incompetence, because "the first of the month" has no relationship to the stay and none of that is spelled out in your terms and conditions. Professional rental companies return deposits 7 or 14 days after the stay, not on an arbitrary day of their choosing. And crying that the house is "new to the program" also highlights your RAGING incompetence. You don't inspect your properties before you rent them? Winner-winner for reason #1 not to...
Read moreThis is edited to respond to the ridiculous response from the owner **we arrived July 3rd and our family did not arrive until July 10th, so we did not have more than 6 people in the house for the first 6 days. IT TOOK ALMOST 7 DAYS TO GET US PORTABLE AC UNITS. Should my elderly parents have stayed in their bedrooms the whole day because they couldn’t travel to all the excursions we did? My father just had a pacemaker put in! We were not expecting to arrive to a house that was 86 degrees. Of course I am going to ask for a partial refund. When we arrived at the house there were multiple oscillating fans in every room, so they knew there was an AC issue. Yes there was a pool, so we went out ONE sliding glass door to the pool, were we suppose to not use the doors to go outside?? Yes, once we got portable AC units we did entertain family for two nights that were also in town. Were we not allowed to do that? Is there a law against having family over for dinner? We had a family reunion for my grandmothers 95th birthday! We have had this planned for two years!!! And we grilled because we did not want to to heat the house anymore than it was. I have pictures of the AC everyday. Even after the units were installed it didn’t get below 82 degrees. There were days we were in Key West ALL DAY and the house was still 86 degrees. Please explain that? Plus, the best part of this was, they wanted the AC maintenance men to freely come in and out of the house when we were not home. The AC repair guy came out and was disgusted by the disintegrated filter. Even the guys who came to service the portable AC units said it was unacceptable to leave us for almost 7 days with a house that wouldn’t cool below 86 degrees. And if you want proof that my family didn’t get there until the 10th, please ask! And I understand it’s hot, I live in Florida, but what you did to us was inhumane. On a side note, you are admitting that the AC is not large enough for the house and would not cool it! One last thing, the 5bdrm conch shell house has ZERO reviews on your website? Why is that??? I am sure it’s because they are all horrible!
Please don’t rent from Vacation Rentals of the Florida Keys. We rented July 3-17th and we were without air for 7 days, we asked to be moved to a new house but they had nothing available (understandable) it took them 7 days to get portable ac units in the house. We paid $6400 for a house with air that would not cool lower than 86 degrees. I contacted the rental company the day we got there to report the issue, and everyday until they sent someone out. I have been trying to get compensated for the first week we didn’t have air, but they have done everything but laughed at the situation. At this point they have stopped responding to me. We work very hard and save our money for a nice relaxing vacation, and we were treated horrible. My parents are in their 70’s and went with us and have health issues. This was not what they deserved. Please advise if anyone has had this type of issue. I did not want to resort to social media, but have no...
Read moreProperty name: SEA VIEW TWO. BEWARE!!!! If you value your money and your piece of mind while on a get away vacation search for a rental elsewhere. As soon as we arrived at our location for our 8 day stay we had issues with the property. The biggest of issues was a leak in the bathroom which flooded the floor and was enough to soak a towel every 20 minutes. The leak also ran into the hallway, warped the door where it wouldn’t shut, and warped the wall and baseboard. This made the bathroom unusable due to standing water, fall hazards, and a door that wouldn’t shut. Needless to say an attempt to at least stop the leak was not made. Instead we had to endure the problem throughout the entirety of our trip. The tenant claims it was a small leak but never came to see it until after we left conveniently. There was also an array of additional issues like, door handles falling off the doors, a busted water hose at the cleaning station, and a tv outside that wouldn’t connect to the WiFi and was useless. I had to personally replace a battery in the grill starter just to use it. The house is also falsely advertised with a boat ramp but the ramp does not come with the house. This cause us to have to pay for boat launching and loading! $25 each time in and out! After asking for some sort of compensation for the inconvenience and disappointment we were quickly denied without consideration. This is a company that cares more about money than renters enjoying a getaway vacation. I can assure you we have already started booking with a different company for our yearly Keys trip and will never do business with this...
