I took my daughter to see Secret Life of Pets 2. The movie was to start at 4:00. I got there at 3:55 and bought my ticket. I also bought a large popcorn and Coke. My friends who I was meeting walked out of the theatre and said, don't buy tickets. The movie started at 3:15. My tickets said 4:00. Fandango website said 4:00. Apparently the theatre website incorrectly said 3:15. The manager chose to go with the website and started the movie at 3:15. Why, if they knew the movie started at 3:15, did they sell me a ticket to a 4:00 show? I was not the only one in this situation. People started to get very angry. One poor boy had come with his Mom and friends for his birthday party. He was very disappointed. In the end, they gave us our money back for the tickets and free movie passes. They would not give me my money back for the popcorn and Coke. The only reason I paid that much was because you can't bring your own food and drink in. I didn't see the movie, so I didn't need the popcorn and Coke. I could have bought dinner with the money I spent on concessions. The popcorn and Coke don't cost the theatre very much. They should have reimbursed me. Also, my daughter has Autism. When we left the theatre and it became clear that she wasn't going to see the movie, she had a huge meltdown. No, we could not wait till the later showing. Her medication would have worn out and she wouldn't have been able to sit through the movie. Very...
Read moreThe best thing this theater has going for it is its convenient location. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The seats are extremely uncomfortable—hard and stiff, like sitting on a rock. It would be a major improvement if they upgraded to reclining seats like AMC offers.
The lighting system is also confusing. There are no lights on during the previews or before the movie begins, so people are left using their phone flashlights to find seats in total darkness—which can disrupt others. Then, once the actual movie starts, they turn on dim lights and leave them on for the entire film. It really takes away from the viewing experience and seems completely backwards.
The screen also feels too small for the room. To get a decent view, you pretty much have to sit closer to the front.
They also don’t offer free refills on drinks. In my situation, a male staff member—possibly the manager or owner—was kind enough to give me a refill after a mix-up. I had ordered a large Coke Zero for myself and a regular Dr. Pepper for my daughter, but the cashier accidentally swapped the drinks.
Overall, I’m glad we got to see Jurassic World: Rebirth, but I definitely wish we had just made the trip to AMC in Tallahassee for a more comfortable and...
Read moreI've been going here for over a decade well before two remodels. The staff is always friendly and it's very nice. I have heard people complain about the price of refills which are not free anymore for large drinks and popcorn and nachos are pricey. But I ask people to remember this is a small business, not a major chain they employ staff, pay a power bill, and expenses on days when maybe only 20 people come to the movies during the weekday. So please give them a break. It's a small market they serve and I think they're doing a great job. The most important price tag is the price of a ticket is very cheap for the movies these days for people who just want to see a movie. I always buy a drink and popcorn or Nachos then make a joke about the price, but I do it to support them so they will be there every week from now till forever. Otherwise, my only option is to drive fifty miles to Dothan or Panama pay more for a ticket and maybe a little less for concessions. I would rather spend an hour watching a movie not driving to and from one. So for my Buck, This is a great little Home town theater That's doing an amazing job for such a small market Keep it up don't be...
