Small museum with three different building . Yes its small but rich in history knowledge about paddle boats tugs . Best part is the tour on the paddle boat . Price is great when combined with other museum

We had a very interesting quick tour of this museum. It was very informative trip. They had some rare exhibits, I remember buying some posters of some stern wheelers from this museum.

Museum was so so, we had been there before. You would had thought they would brighten the place up a bit. I'm sure there is more about the Mighty Muskingum River, that they could come up with. Plus it T's right into the Ohio River. There is so much history their. They need to update the museum along with there bathrooms. Just maybe they would get more visiters. The whole place down there needs a coat of paint. Dose their Mayor know about Historical Grants, There out there why dose the Mayor of Marietta not care or has nobody ever approached him. It could be a nice tourism down there and bring in great money, if they would apply Marietta Mayor to get a Historical Grant. That way they can fix it up and apply more History & add some paint to the...

Updated for Sept 2020: I can’t begin to tell you how impressive and important this little museum is, and trust me when I say it is WELL worth your investment and time to take a tour. Definitely 5-STAR recommended.

Review from 2015: What a truly wonderful surprise and well worth seeing. If touring the nearby Campus Martius museum do this first, as it'll give you a chance to see the W.P. Snyder and grounds exhibits while the sun is hitting their 'good side' for photography purposes, beat the crowds, and while the morning is still cool and comfortable. Lots of great steamboat and paddleboat models, paintings, and artifacts. A definitive Must-see while...

The museum has three buildings with displays of all different types of river craft from canoes to steamboats. There are models of different types of steamboats along with bells, calliopes, paddle wheels, helms and furnishings of the boats on display. Photos of the ships interiors and a video of the collection are on display. The guided tour of the W. P. Snyder Jr. was excellent, the guide was very knowledgeable regarding the history of the ship, the way it was manned and how everything on the boat worked. Well...
