Edit: While it took us a few years to return, local law enforcement now handles security, and it appears the safety of patrons has become more of a priority.
While its nice to enjoy concerts and shows so close to home, there are some things that could be improved upon. The venue serves alcohol, yet lacks the capacity to take care of situations from intoxicated patrons. The last event we attended was ruined by this. A man sitting in front of us became very intoxicated, shortly after the concert began. He was loud, and even after being told to quiet down, and stay in his seat(by staff and patrons alike), he continued to disrupt the show for everyone near him. He became very belligerent, and posed a safety hazard to those around him. The staff were well aware of the situation, and did little to correct it. Instead of asking the intoxicated patron to leave, they allowed him to ruin the show for dozens of patrons. Its understandable to have these sort of situations, and I would never fault a venue for the behavior of their patrons. However, it is the responsibility of the venue to ensure a safe environment for their patrons, and to remove guests who can't abide by rules, or pose a threat to other guests. We had attended shows before this, but will think very hard about the ones we attend in the future. Another thing to keep in mind; the seats are very tight, especially in the balcony. If you are over 5' 10", I would advise only choosing seats in the lower level. Its a beautiful venue, much time and money has been put into its restoration. Its just a shame the details that were overlooked to make it a safe and enjoyable...
Read moreWe have never been to an event at the Peoples Bank Theatre until we went to The Ozark Mountain Daredevils concert on October 25, 2025. The level of musicianship of the band members was impressive, and overall, we enjoyed the concert. It was great to hear some of their hits as well as some of their lesser known songs. However, we did have some concerns. The house sound system sounded muddy (too much bass and low midrange), distorted (too much gain), and was unreasonably loud for a band of this genre throughout most of the concert. There was some improvement in sound quality at the beginning of the second set. The volume was lower, and the sound was much clearer. Unfortunately, this only lasted for a couple of songs. After that, it was back to the same muddy, distorted sounds of the first set. We were unaware that alcohol would be sold and consumed during the concert. That being said, we were surrounded by patrons that had obviously had too much to drink. They were having a difficult time getting to their seats, and they were spilling their beer on the floor around us. Perhaps the theatre should consider making some sections alcohol free for those of us who don't want to put up with these types of behaviors. We are not necessarily against people consuming alcohol at concerts. We came to enjoy the music, not to worry about getting drinks spilled on or around us. We had considered attending the Foghat concert the next day, but we didn't because of the poor sound quality and the intoxicated people we had to deal with during...
Read moreHad a large party @ 3 Dog Night Concert tonight and had a WONDEFUL time! Seats are ridiculously small. If not for the people and the great music group this evening would have been miserable! Still: I, nor anyone of our party will ever return due to the seating being so awful. I understand the idea of keeping the theater as original as possible... but this is not the way to do it. The walls are just paint and stickers! Not original molding (laughing).. so why the stupid kindergarten seats as an original fixture? If you are going to skimp... seating is not the way to do it. Replace those seats and you WILL have a winner for sure. I would go to several shows every single month guaranteed if that were fixed. Everyone was talking about discomfort the entire time, and was distracting. Like I said; a great show is only a distraction from the pain caused by this seating for only so long. Jamming 700 people into a space that fits 500 might be a way to sell more tickets.. today. Not if we only come once because of it! This is what has happened with all of us tonight. EVERYTHING was perfect, except the seating. But that is such an important fixture for total enjoyment. You are on top of the people beside you (hopefully not a stranger) the entire visit. Would have easily been 5 stars but because I can't enjoy more than 30 minutes here.. THREE is all I can...
