Stopped in to see if we could schedule a tour and we were able to get tickets for the next tour (which was in less than an hour). Every room was so beautiful. The gothic revival architecture can be seen throughout the home. Our guide, Jaye was fun and told us some interesting info about the place. You can tell the the staff really takes pride in The Castle and the city. There is a carriage house in the back to get your tickets and it's also a gift shop. They have a few books and small items for sale. They even have special events throughout the year.

If you old houses and history then the Castle is well worth a visit. Beatifully maintained/restored American gothic home, and our tour guide (Tammy, I think?) was very informative and clearly liked sharing her passion for this home and its history. Some very unique features in the home that we had not come across in other house tours, such as the large interior shutters on the bay window, the upper turret, the faux marble fireplace, etc. My wife and I both really enjoyed this tour as well as our quick visit to Marietta OH, a quaint and picturesque town.

A great introduction to the history of Marietta Ohio. This house and the grounds have a unique story for each family that lived there. And thanks to the last owners who had the forethought to make sure it was preserved when they passed. It's worth the tour cost to see how this house evolved over the years, the unique Gothic Revival architecture, and some fascinating collection pieces like the hair art of a bygone era. Do take the time and ask the docents questions about the small details!

Stepping back in time at The Castle in Marietta was a true highlight of our visit! The hour-long guided tour was perfectly paced and packed with fascinating information. Our docent was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the history of the home, answering all our questions with enthusiasm and a friendly demeanor. From the architectural details to the stories of the families who lived within its walls, we learned so much and gained a real appreciation for this historic gem. We're so glad we made time to visit The Castle during our stay in Marietta and highly recommend it to anyone interested in local history and beautiful architecture....
