I joined Planet Fitness prior to its opening in December of 2015. I left my previous gym (WOW) due to the high noise level. The music was much to loud. When I signed up with Nick at this gym I was promised that loud music would not be an issue. I was assured that a more mature crowd of people would be registered as members. One day as I entered the gym I approached Nick and asked him to lower the music and he did. As I was working out I noticed the volume was turned up once again. I approached the desk and Nick informed me that the regional manager Nicole turned up the volume. I approached her and she argued with me . She felt the volume was appropriate. I disagreed. I found her to be most disrespectful and lacking any customer service skills. You do not argue with customers and you don't disrespect your fellow co-workers after they resolved an issue with a member. I contacted the main headquarters twice, issued an email voicing my concerns, and have not received a callback from anyone. I am extremely disappointed regarding this one particular issue of loud music. Even with my headphones on I can hear the facilities music over mine. The gym is very nice and suits my needs. The MUSIC IS TOO LOUD!!! My workout partner has voiced his concern over the loud music as well. As a matter of fact, he was allowed to quit because of an issue he had with carrying a gym bag on the floor. He and his wife both belong to Planet Fitness. He quit one day because of his inability to carry a bag on the gym floor. The regional manager Nicole, instead of offering an alternative solution, allowed him to quit. On the way to another gym I asked my partner to call the regional manager Nicole to ask her he could wear a "fanny pack" on the floor. She said that this would be acceptable. Why did she not offer this simple solution to handle a simple issue from the very beginning? She clearly is lacking the ability to resolve issues using the simplest form of critical thinking skills. Her lack of customer service skills I have also previously mentioned. I would have given a much higher rating if this issue could be resolved. Some of your staff need some retraining with regard to providing good customer service. I hope someone responds back and takes my complaint seriously. If not I will find another place to workout. But before I do I will use every "soundboard" on the internet to voice my concerns. I like your facility. Please lower the music. This is all I ask.
I was quite surprised at your response to my complaint. It is as if you did not read it. This is how you respond to a customer offering no resolution to the loud music? "That a bummer....we need to find the sweet spot". I can not believe this response was from a business owner. It sounds quite childish and ridiculous! I will not bring this matter up again. I have tried to talk to your staff and apparently they are complying with your decision to leave the music loud. Please don't patronize me with your comments. If you would like to contact me you...
Read moreI was visiting family this weekend from Brooklyn, NY and figured I’d stop by this location for early morning workout sessions. Torn between 2 and 3 stars as I had a few observations::
•No greeting or acknowledgement upon entry. Like literally not even eye contact. Not only to myself but anyone within the 90mins I was present (in 3 visits). Front desk could care less if you were even a member or scanned yourself in, as they were too occupied on their phone.
•At 7am I always expect to walk into a clean club/gym, but in all three visits none of the equipment was clean. Do they not have a cleaning crew to sanitize at night, overnight or in the morning? No associates even walked through the gym to pick up discarded paper or check on machines. Word of advice, bring your own Lysol To Go Wipes—I don’t trust their concentrate/spray bottles.
•There are about 50 cardio machines from treadmills, ellipticals and stair climbers—and very few weight machines. It’s such an odd ratio to me, and wondering if it’s due to the demographic. Be prepared to wait in line or fight for a spot for your machine.
•Speaking of fight—there are a lot of hoggers at this gym. People who claim to be alternating their workout routine by using 2/3 machines at a time. A gentlemen told me this while I was setting up on one… in response I gave him a long blank stare and proceeded to add my weight. He laughed it off, so I wasn’t certain if it was bad flirting or a joke but the next day another gentlemen did the same. Neither of them owned Planet Fitness.
•The weirdest layout in this 1-leveled gym. I mean honestly the treadmills take up the entire floor plan, separating the very little weight machines they actually have. If you’re working hips and legs on one day, you’ll find yourself walking to opposite ends of the gym. How about grouping muscle groups together?!
•Please utilize that Lug alarm because a lot of your members are slamming machines after a set to give the impression that they’re doing an incredible workout. Little do they realize that setting down your weights with grace takes a lot more effort, strength and is way more impressive

Read moreI don’t normally review anything in google but here goes. I came into town for a quick visit from Michigan and wanted to hit the gym. So a quick search and I find this gym 10 miles away. Cool. I looked at the reviews and was thinking it couldn’t be as bad as some of the comments I read about this gym. Now I have to say that my home PF is a spectacular gym for what it is. It is cleaned spotless and even under every machine is mopped and dried daily. I watch my local PF employees working very hard to keep it fresh. This planet was filthy. There were dust bunnies lining the wall. Under the machines was disgusting. It looks like they clean the floors once a month. And even then they just wash around the machines. You can see what looks like a “chalk outline” around the machinery. The space is so tight that I can’t imagine how cramped it is on a busy hour. I was there at 10 am on a weekday. The equipment was in disrepair. The ropes for were so worn down I was afraid to do tricep exercises with them. It was as though a rat had chewed through 3/4 of the ropes on both ends. The smell was awful. It smelled like my high school boys locker room. I get it , it’s a gym. But there is absolutely no need for it to smell that bad. Finally, the employees stood behind the counter never even looking up from their phones for more than a few seconds for the hour and a half I was there. They were very busy. Clearly whatever they were doing was more important than cleaning, tending to equipment issues or greeting guests. Day two of my visit I went to another gym. Way different experience. As a franchise ,PF should pull this license because it’s a awful representation of their model. It’s also disrespectful to their...
