During my recent visit to Empire Szechuan for takeout, I had a chance to try a variety of dishes including the beef lo mein, cold sesame noodles, sweet and sour chicken, spicy salmon roll, crab Rangoons, egg rolls, pork dumplings, and hot and sour soup. The food was prepared quickly, and I was impressed with the variety of options available. The beef lo mein was a standout item for me, with well-cooked noodles and tender pieces of beef. The cold sesame noodles were also tasty and well-balanced in flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was cooked perfectly, with a nice balance of sweetness and tanginess. The spicy salmon roll was a nice addition to my order, with fresh ingredients and a good amount of heat. The crab Rangoons, egg rolls, and pork dumplings were all cooked perfectly and had good flavor. One unique thing about Empire Szechuan is that they offer both Chinese and Japanese cuisine, which was a pleasant surprise. It allowed me to try a wide range of dishes and experience different flavors. I also appreciated the excellent service I received during my visit. The staff was friendly, and my food was ready in just 12 minutes after placing the order. The only dish that was a bit lackluster for me was the hot and sour soup. It was a bit watered down and lacked the robust flavors I was expecting. Overall, I had a positive experience at Empire Szechuan. The food was fresh, flavorful, and prepared quickly, and the staff was friendly and efficient. If you're in the area and looking for some good Chinese and Japanese food, this is definitely a place to check out.

Special, top-tier Chinese. Great, quiet atmosphere and very friendly service. Started with the egg drop wonton soup, the broth was flavorful and had just the right texture, and the wontons were delicious and tightly filled with quality filling and not too doughy. Then the firecracker shrimp were plentiful, fresh, not overcooked, on a bed of fresh lettuce with a wonderful sauce (the sauce was so good i ate all of the lettuce underneath too!) The chicken dumplings (fried), like the wontons, were filled with high quality ingredients and the dough had a pleasing crunch (awesome.) moving on to the pork egg foo young which wasn’t burnt nor undercooked (which is a major problem with most places) it was all cohesive bites with pork and eggs and herbs finished with a sinful brown sauce which had a hint of sweetness that really boosted the depth of flavor. Also the standard, general tso’s chicken, big chunks of high quality chicken, sweet sauce with lots of heat, and soft on the inside crunchy on the outside. All in all a spectacular meal and a place i would recommend without hesitation to anyone.

Empire Szechuan in Englishtown, NJ is a neighborhood jewel of a Chinese restaurant. I went there with my cousin. She didn't think we needed a reservation, but she made one anyway. It's a good thing we had that reservation because this restaurant is very popular. Soon after we arrived there was a line of people waiting for tables. We both had a combination dinner which comes with either soup or egg roll, pork fried rice, and your choice among several entrees. She had roast pork and Chinese vegetables. She enjoyed her meal, but she didn't like the fortune in her fortune cookie. I had an egg roll, pork fried rice and shrimp chow mein. They were excellent. My fortune in the cookie was just fine. The cookie itself was sweet and delicious. Neither of us ordered the regular entrees, but I saw some regular entrees being served at other tables. Those entrees are big enough for two adults. Service was friendly and efficient. The decor is very nice. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, and there's plenty of free parking in the lot out front.

Been coming here for a while. Didnt want to leave a review but rather them understand the customer feedback without telling them face to face (as I still do go here). Although some things are off here over all it is one of the better options in this specific area. A few points I would like to make. 1 I ordered the walnut chicken and it was a disgrace. It was basically some mayo on top of chicken with walnuts in it. So far from good it’s not even funny. This specific dish cost more than your average sesame chicken etc. 2 The orange chicken was good a few times but the last two times they cut the orange pieces so small I was literally eating them and they were DISGUSTING. 3 They offer cold sesame noodled which was a travesty. It was basically peanut butter over plain noodles. Just horrible. Would never order that ever again. What a waste of money to any customer coming there. 4 all the sesame chicken barely had any sesame seeds on it. If I wanted general taos I would have ordered that instead. I ordered sesame chicken for sesames. I would love to give them a higher review but unfortunately the bad seems to outweigh the good. I will still eat here but I will stick with the few decent dishes I think are acceptable. The restaurant is beautiful and they seem to be getting tons of business as waits can be 30-60 mins. I hope this message finds you guys well and helps you better the store. I only write this with love in hopes of better food in the future. If I see changed in the future I will consider changing my...

If I could give 10 stars I would. I am not the biggest fan of Chinese food, mostly because I noticed that many places are either just not the same anymore or simply not good. However, Empire Szechuan goes above and beyond. Their food is excellent. It is delicious every time. Their fried pork dumplings are incredible, because they are homemade (unlike many other places). Their fried rice is excellent, the yaki udon noodle dishes are spectacular, the boneless spare ribs are very good, and honestly not one of their dishes is not good. I particularly like the sesame chicken/chicken fried rice combo. I don't know what it is about their sesame chicken that makes it different from other places, but it is absolutely delicious. The chicken is crispy and tasty. I love this place and everything about it. I truly believe it is some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. Plus, the staff and owner are very nice and friendly. Overall, the food is phenomenal. It is extremely clear that they take pride in their cooking and delivering fresh, non-greasy food. I will absolutely keep coming back :)

P.S. - their portions are very big, so you definitely get the most bang...
