This is the first time I have been here. I recently decided to take up inline skating as an alternative exercise to jogging as a result of the sport being low impact on bones and joints but still offering an intense workout. For only being my 5th time ever putting on skates the Assabet River trail was an excellent choice. Mostly straight level ground with some small hills. What I will mention for the inexperienced inline skaters is to be aware of small twigs that fall from the trees. It is wide enough for a safe walking. Need to be careful at the road crossings if you are with kid. Thanks for such a good place.

Trail is only just over 5 miles in length end to end but still nice and scenic as well. There are quite a few road crossings on the trail but well marked and signaled for crossing.
