In August 2024 I went here to get my naval pierced, the overall experience was good other than the fact that they only have one size bar bell for naval piercings. My piercer told me that there is only one size of bar bells since it’s highly unlikely for my anatomy to need a larger barbell. A couple days went by when I started to notice the barbell starting to embed in my skin to the point where I could no longer get it out, so I went back to Aurora to have them check it out. Both of the ladies said that it was due to my posture and not the bar bell size but she could order me a larger one anyway (free of charge) she then told me to continue with hot compresses so I did. They said to come back in 2 days to pick up my new longer jewelry, so I did just to find out that they hadn’t even ordered the jewelry yet, this lead me to seek out other jewelry and change it myself since I was in pain and scared of permanent scarring, I was continuing to use the hot compresses multiple times a day as recommended, I noticed it start to heal when I changed it with non-Aurora jewelry. It took Aurora around 2-3 weeks to call me about my new jewelry coming in. My anatomy needed a larger barbell, I noticed it start to heal very quickly after they changed it. Sadly, I am now left with potential permanent scarring on the top of my naval piercing due to the embedding that happened. You can do so much better Aurora, especially for being the only piercing shop in Marquette, extremely disappointed...
Read moreCan't even begin to explain the level of professionalism here. I had my daughter for 5 days over spring break from downstate and she had just had her 7th. birthday party. I gave her some dollar store earrings as part of her birthday present as a sort of hint to getting her ears pierced. She has been talking about wanting her ears pierced for a year or so but she was hesitant, for obvious reasons. I mean what kid actually wants to volunteer to be impaled with a needle?? My daughter!! We packed her clothes in the car to make the trip back to her mom's house 5 and a half hours away but she wanted her ears pierced before she went home. I called the owner Chris, of Aurora Piercing and he politely informed me that they were booked solid until the following week and as the dad of a little blonde hair, blue eyed girl my heart broke. I told Chris that wouldn't work because she was headed back to her mom's but I appreciate his time. This was right around noon on a Friday, their busiest day and Chris says we will see you at 2:00, I will squeeze her in. He didn't have to do that. I didn't ask him to. Im pretty sure it meant a lot more to me than it did my daughter! A few tears later and her ears were pierced with a pair of top notch aquamarine gemstone studs that my daughter picked out from Auroras' selection. Thanks again Chris....
Read moreAbout a week ago, I went in and got my industrial repierced. I received great customer service from Chris(the piercer) as well as the receptionist. I was pierced with too short of a bar and have no room for swelling. After about 3-4 days of it swelling and being a new piercing, I called to have them look at it. I talked to Brooke. She looked at it and proceeded to tell me that she did not think I needed a longer bar even though one of my ball end pieces is digging into my ear. She proceeded to advice me to do warm towel compresses 3-4 times 2 times a day. A towel compress with the same towel 3-4 times in one sitting can cause an infection as it will keep getting new bacteria on it. She also told me that I should get a travel pillow to sleep with( I do agree with this as I’ve heard it as a great tip a few times). She told me that she didn’t think my swelling wouldn’t get much worse even though it was still a...
