Dunkirk District Park — Attraction in Dunkirk

I take my dog to walk here. There isn't really a path to walk so we go around the fields or on the road, but it is still a nice place to walk.

The biggest issue I have is the lack of enforcement on the leash requirement for dogs. People let their dogs run across the parking lot up to the dog park fence with no leash, or around other parts of the park without a leash on.

This is dangerous and put people, and leashed dogs, at risk. While it is mostly the owner of the dog that is at fault, the park could do a better job of enforcing the leash requirements. I come here for a safe place to walk my dog and when people allow their dogs to run free it creates an unsafe environment.

My family and I visited the park today, the entire park was clean, all of the playground equipment was in great shape. The trash containers had been dumped and were not running over like at some other parks. The grounds people were visible and riding around the park in a white pick up truck checking on things and making sure that everything was being kept as it should. The playground was great so much choice for all ages and was very open. I also saw a tennis court, basketball court and and another small playground with picnic area. There is so much to do and could see why would spend the whole day there. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is although the playground was amazing and the kids loved it we ended up leaving because there were so many BEES like a ridiculous amount.
