Thai Zapp Restaurant — Restaurant in Maryland

This place is unbelievable! I just stopped in for dinner after google suggested Thai Zapp. I hadn’t heard of it before. I am blown away, honestly, and I am not easy to impress with Thai food because I tend to be picky about it. The restaurant is the cleanest one I have EVER seen, it is completely spotless. That is without exaggeration- it is absolutely pristine. It is beautifully decorated as well. The lovely woman who served us (possibly the owner?) was an absolute doll. She was so friendly and kind and upbeat. I paid attention as well to the other tables and how she interacted with them and she was just so wonderful. A baby was frustrated and cried and she said “oh sorry, am I keeping you waiting?” In the gentlest voice. She directed some other customers who had been there before to “their” table, wished happy birthday to another woman and told her to come back on Friday for something she was out of. Just so friendly and kind and welcoming. I can sometimes feel weird in social situations and this place felt like being at a friend’s house. Now the best part- the food! The atmosphere alone I would come back for but the FOOD! It was so good! Just absolutely beautiful and fantastic. I don’t even have words for it- it was that good. Very flavorful, cooked so carefully and perfectly, just every bit as stunning and pristine as the rest of the place. I am typically picky about Thai food as I was lucky enough to grow up with really good Thai food and this is the BEAT Thai food I’ve had in YEARS. I am thoroughly impressed and will absolutely be back (and tell everyone about it!) Thank you Thai Zapp for such a wonderful dinner and such amazing service. i am so sorry i bought my Pra Ram dish at 4pm on 10/12/23. The total was $12.72 not including the tip.

i am so angry i am leaving my 2nd review EVER on Google. The six inch round to go entre container was a bit worrisome, too bad i didn’t check the “brown rice” till i got home bec the container was 1/2 full. But i didn’t need all the rice anyway bec there were 2 slices of carrot with plenty of pork pieces. i had asked for extra peanut sauce bec i love it so much but i should’nt have bothered asking them to put extra sauce in when i noticed my request was not honored.

Turns out the cook didn’t put massamum OR coconut milk in the sauce. plus it had too much salt.. it was a sickly sweet broth of disappointment. ugh run away from this place.

the server was so friendly but the cook slumped in a booth and couldn’t be bothered to make a decent dish. Don’t bother asking me to come in for another dish because i won’t be back. I've never had a waitress argue with me on how I needed a dish prepared for my consumption! I'm a vegan and ordered papya salad without fish sauce. I said use lemon or lime juice, but that's how I wish it made. She argued that it wouldn't be papya salad. She did not want to do it even with my assurance that it was the way I wanted it. She finally relented and said if I didn't like it, I'd still have to pay for it. I'm old school where the customer is right! I thought that as long as they give me what I ordered, that's it! Needless to say, it affected how little I enjoyed the rest of my meal. My family also shared their meal was bland also. Ordered iced tea and received unsweetened tea without any sweetener. I normally tip 30% when I get good service. I tipped only 10%. Not coming back.
