I don’t think I’ll come back any longer. It used to be fun but there’s no changing rooms, no bathroom (is that legal?), and the prices are silly. Most of the workers are pretty rude (not all). One woman acted like she was doing THE MOST when allowing my toddler to go to the bathroom there. If I’m buying stuff for him from their store why can’t there be a bathroom to use? Do they want a puddle in their floor? Anyways I realized in my quick rush to get him to the toilet that I had a book in my hand. I set it on the ground so I could have both hands to help him. She looked at me like I’m trying to steal a book and goes mam there’s no merchandise allowed back here. As if I’m trying to be shady with a $2 book… when my toddler says he needs to go I just grab him and go. Their book section speaker is like 3x the loudness of all the other speakers and it wakes up my baby. I asked about turning it off/ down and another lady clearly did not give a care or even act like she’d let anyone know. Even some tape over it would do something to quiet it. The toddler section clothing sizes are all mixed up which is really annoying. Toy prices are like 3/4 what a new toy would cost-sometimes more which is wild. Needless to say...

Ive been coming to this location for years. I detect an air of change and I'm not sure it's for the better, time will tell.

I donate here instead of goodwill because it's so hassle free and you don't have to wait one at a time. Today I had some smaller furniture and was unloading the last piece and was told I couldnt donate it because since they rearranged they don't have as much room for furniture. I don't come to this location for their furniture selection but now it's even smaller (photo for reference). I offloaded a couple furniture items and no one said anything until then? So confused.

Before rearranging there was such an amazing selection, right now the shelves are largely bare. They rearranged the toddler clothes and for some reason the sizes are all mixed up on the same rack. It's been like this for weeks.

Normally the employees are really unintrusive and nice, but there was an older woman there who seemed kind of grumpy.

This location needs to calm down on pricing. I think whoever decides prices has forgotten this is a thrift store NOT a fancy boutique. Ive seen clothes priced higher here then in store brand new. Also since I have NO choice but to check myself out, I cant see why your prices would go up. I should have a choice between self checkout and a cashier. I do not work for value village so why am I working when I shop there? I will give them this though, their selection is nice but again the prices are too high. I literally get mad while shopping here. Due to overpriced things and lack of customer service (in regards to check out, not the employees themselves) I do not go here unless I absolutely need something I cant find elsewhere in town and I know im not alone in this. Do better value village. Get your prices under control and rethink your only self check out methods. Also better weekly sales would be nice but yall cant even do that with your ridiculous prices. Come on its time to reevaluate...

Update:Jan. 13, '23 I found all kinds of goodies, decorations and statues. I passed on them, because I have enough. They save all the Valentine's day themed items and they have put them out in the last week or so. Go check it out! Found a Sterling and diamond pendant for 15.99. It being senior day, I paid less. At 30% off it was $11.23 I was looking for suitcases, rolling ones, but they were picked through. There where scads of books, some not too pricey jewelry, and brand new hair products still wrapped in their packaging! WEN hair products, new. I bought them of course because new at the salon it is 30.00. Oh and a laundry basket, a small one. The perfect size for my room!

Marysville State street was our first Value Village store - still a favorite destination with great selection of women's and men's clothing, furniture, books and home items. Has a senior discount as well as periodic special sales events. Marysville location has very efficient drop off service for donations, easy parking and excellent selection. It also gets higher turnover with frequent new items - especially clothing, household goods and furniture. This is also our favorite destination for buying seasonal items especially Xmas decorations and outdoor lights.
