The people are welcoming, friendly and genuinely care about me and my family. The music and singing is a blend of contemporary and hymns. The teaching both from the pulpit and in classes is very Bible based and application oriented. The class times are interactive with opportunity for questions and answers. The motto there is, "Loving God, Loving People, Following Jesus". During the week there is an elementary age program called AWANA , a youth program and adult college credit Bible classes. The main building is modern and comfortable. There is a wide range of ages and ethnicity both in the congregation and on the platform. I tried to give kihei baptist church a painting of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ 1941. Pastor Van Michael and the congregation wouldn't hang the painting in their church. Pastor Van Michael was rude, condescending and self righteous and he wouldn't give me a real reason why he wouldnt hang the picture of Christ on their church wall for all the people to see. There is no art displayed of Christ's face in the church. Ive had the painting 31 years. I didnt like the 4 sermons Pastor Van Michael gave that I attended. His teaching isn't accurate...

My Family and I were and are members of The Best church on Maui. Pastor Jay, The Elders, other members are our family in Christ Jesus..... We currently live in NC and have found another great church family here in Burke county. I have to send an old fashioned letter To Pastor Jay and Debbie to update them on us( one of many families to come and go) from the the ( paradise on earth) island of Maui..... love and God...
